Heyy MMy gear box won't change from 2nd gear when in driver, you can also use reverse? Just wondering if this has happened to any one else and what they did to fix it, I've tried swapping the ecu out for another one but it made no difference so I'm not sure what to do next Thanks from Rory
Like the ECU that controls the engine, the ECU that controls the automatic transmission stores fault codes. You should have checked the ECU to see if any fault codes have been logged, rather than changing it. Check the transmission oil level & also check if the oil smells like it has been burnt. Will the vehicle move if you operate the gearshift manually?
I just had the gear box out and took it to a shop and had a service All fluid is fresh I replaced the transmission ecu and was unable to get diagnostic mode to work on it
To read automatic transmission fault codes you'll require ConZult, note the free version won't do it. When you say, "I just had the gear box out and took it to a shop and had a service." Has the vehicle been driven without problems since reinstalling the gearbox & this/these problem/s have now developed? Or have you identified this/these problem/s as this is the first time you have attempted to drive the vehicle since the reinstallation of the gearbox?
Thank you for your help I have solved the problem, when I put the new trans ecu in I also had to replace the fuse because the old one was shorting it out Just took my zed for its first real drive can not wipe the smile off my face
Can any one please help me too . My n/a auto won’t change after 3rd gear . Reverse work and also manually shift works . Oil is perfectly fine .... it is kind of stuck in 3rd gear . Mechanic told me to take it off in L “1st gear and then put it D during the car is going . Shall I replace the whole transmission which is hard to find . Turbo tans is easier to find but not n/a . Or shall I do the above mentioned test of codes and all that ? Confused and desperate . Help needed . Thanks
Try swapping the transmission control unit with a working one, also check the revolution sensor? I had a similar issue with shifting, swapping the control unit fixed that, but it still would throw a AT Comms fault code which was caused by an issue with the revolution sensor.
