hi all, Had a bit of a problem which became more common on a cruise over the weekend. at first i thought it was only happening when the motor was cold, but even when she was warm she started doing it. i'll be driving along and have my foot on the accelerator, if i back off quite quickly the motor will cut out and i'll come to a rolling stop. i then turn the keys off, start the car and she's fine again. facts: - TT motor, just had 100,000km service, runs beautifully (aside from this) - auto gearbox - turbo timer installed - temp gauge is reading about 80deg - seems to more commonly happen just after i've turned left, sometimes right though - series 2 PTU installed, but i still have the original harness connected to it according to Simmo any ideas? i did a search but wasn't having much luck with what i was putting in. cheers Jay
mine does the same jaybo, ive put it down to lots of vac leaks..... i vaguely recall some pod filters can cause this as well....
try cleaning your crank angle sensor connector. mine did dumb sh%t like this for a while until i touched the connector with the butt of a screwdriver and the engine cut out. hit it with some terminal cleaner and a tiny file, hasnt done it since. might not be the issue but start small and elminiate all the simple stupid things.
i would have said vac leaks aswell if jaybo hadnt mentioned it runs nicely. every time i have had a vac leak it runs and sounds like a pig. valid theory though.
i would check your ptu plug and mabe undo one of the joins and see how its been joined to the s1 harness. Reset your tps and clean your crank angle plug there is usually a fair bit of corrosion in there. Mabe check your ecu plug to make sure its all nice and tight but not to tight.
this happened to me and it turned out to be a vac leak, had a look in the engine and found a loose vac line, shoved it back on adn it was sweet. so check ur lines.
CAS or AFM related? Check error codes 1st then check CAS & AFM connections and then check the two sensors are performing correctly via datascan or conzult displays.
i had this exact issue when i had a bad alternator. it was sucking the juice out of the car hard.... check your current drain jaybo !!!
