Im due for getting my exhaust made up. I have npower dumps and fronts. Was planning: 2.5inch mild steel dual system with X-pipe and 100cpsi ballistic cats. Quote was around $800. just saw this in the sale section. single system, 4inch, mandrel bent, 5inch outlet. Just wodnering what are pros and cons of single vs dual systems? Apart from dual looknig better Noise, flow, performance etc. http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=290260
How much Were you quoted for the Npower dumps and fronts? Cant find it on their ebay shop, only fronts and what size?
their link isnt wokring at the moment. Goes to H-pipe when you click it. But i got them from here: http://www.nahux.com/NPOWER/vehicle.php?id=21 300bucks for dumps and fronts. They said 2.5inch, but i measured 2.25?
to be honest i dont know. havent tried them yet. Its the same ones lots of people on the forum get, all with positive results. They also look a lot more free flowing than the stock dumps. So even if theyre only 2.25inch i think theyd be good for flow? I was a bit confused though, when the site said 2.5inch and i measured em smaller..
correction- theyre 60mm across. which is 2.36 inches and thats whats specified on the website. not sure why i thought they were 2.5inches
3?? or 2.5?? brought this up once before, and i got the image that 2.5 is enough, and 3 is too loud and unnecessary. 2.5inch dumps and front pipes, i can have a 3inch system from there back right?
3 inch no point in going from 2.5 into 3 in my opinion. 3 inch gives you more room to breath with upgrades in the future also. I have no hard data wether it is "better" so i cant comment on that. With that quote make sure that it isnt "pinch bent" 800 sounds a little cheap, awesome if it madrel though! If your strapped for cash then just save. Personally single exhausts on zeds looks like its missing a ball or something lol just doesnt go.
yeah just i dont have any exhaust on the car atm so need to get one asap so i can drive it did the tt conversion, so stock na 2inch pipe wont do. its a rough quote from sureflow exhausts, 2.5inch setup, mild steel.
Yeah, they do look like they are missing something. Really need a rear bar with only one hole in it. 3" isn't worth the hassle IMO. Most Skylines only run a single 3" or 3.5". It's the law of diminishing returns, you might get a pooftenth more performance from 3" over 2.5", but are you better off spending the money elsewhere.
good call if a 900hp gtr uses a single 4 inch im pretty sure a 300hp zed will be fine with twin 2.5.......though 3" does give you the wank factor
I don't mind the idea of having a big single , should be a little lighter , and you can have the single going out the passenger side , supposedly for better weight distribution . Last time I looked that was the setup the slot car was using . Twin 3" front pipes into single 4" exhaust Looks good with that rear bar Guess it doesn't really matter to much either way for a street car though
I'm doing twin 3" into single 3.5" from Cat back, single sounds waay better IMO I've always like the sound of an RB26 high up in the revs and every VG30 I've heard with a single exit sounds very similar.
