so the only thing he did wrong is sell them under an already existing brand... so the already existing brand was known to leak? and he fixed this problem with his own modification? why didnt he just put it under his own brand name?
I just saw this on 3ZC... Pretty lame. At least he is coming out with it. It must have leaked though or I bet it would still be a secret. I bet it will really hurt his business. ^ exactly my question!
can you post me the link tot he thread on 3zc...cant find it and ttnet is useless in regards to trying to read threads
all good, read the ttnet thread..... from what i read he got the 300deg rail and modified it so it doesnt leak and so it supports his fuel lines....which is fine...the only thing he did was sell them under the name of 300 degree....if he had just put them under his own name and state that the rails were copies of the genuine article but modified (along with paying royalties) then it would have been fine
No. If he had of put them under his own name he would be no better than AMS. Instead, what he did was commit fraud. The O-rings aren't required FWIW. No "improvement" necessary.
Now would be a good chance to buy a set of the copies at a cheap price provided they work OK. This would not deter me from buying from coz in the future.
No. not if he had stated they were modified 300 deg rails and paid royalties like i said. customers reported leaks with the 300 deg rails.....or was there a leak when they tried to adapt coz's lines with the 300 deg rail...thus coz 'customising' the rail to suit his lines so they dont leak and then selling them under the 300 deg brand? also whats FWIW :zlove:
Damon's (300 Degree owner) comments: The 'modified' ones are more susceptible to leaks. FWIW=For What It's Worth
AHHH ok, thanks for clearing that up steven... also, alot of people are saying this product isnt the only product that could be a copy... ranges from z1 throttle bodies to their smic....i hope this isnt the first of many confessions
I actually started a thread to see what peoples opinions were on 3ZC also... Here... http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=152420
i got these rails on my car ,, i don't have any problem with them at all .. no leaking no headaches 100% good fit. with 850cc injectors .. well if the others rails were having problems , I'm cool with it . these work good .... now to be honest i don't know what i got i there . if its the copy or the real deal ..... but like i said the ones i got are 100% good
"Hard Line kits" Two words "hardline kit" if the flare is not prefect it will leak! I'd never use hard lines anyway, and I?m unfussed about the copies, and will continue to buy from czp.
they were not sold under the CZP name cause he knew he'd likely get lynched for knocking off the 300 Degree rails. so, better to try to pass them off as the originals to avoid the heat. unless you get caught, that is. the problem here is that it's not just 'immoral' in the eyes of some, it's illegal. this takes everything to a whole new level.
Damn, why the hell did he bother? I'll still buy off him but its a bit of a suprise, he has been so trustworthy until now
**** I hope I got a genuine rail... any way to check without pulling it apart? Probably not... Does anyone from my group buy still have their rail un-installed?
How long ago was the group buy? I forget. Apparently, the copies had a flat edge where the fittings joined to the rail. The originals where chamfered. Would have to pull it apart to tell though.
October/November 2007. I have just emailed Coz to ask. I really don't want to pull mine out to fix something that aint broke, but would be nice to know where we stand.... EDIT found a pic
May 2008 is looking like the earliest (at the moment) for the appearance of copies. From what I remember of the set of 300Degree rails I got, they seemed to be very high quality and I didn't question their legitimacy. I sold mine though so no idea if they are or not. Edit: I'll post the pic on ttnet to see if they can tell.
