    hey guys... well my NA is giving me some trouble and i've been planning to do an engine swap later in the year...

    seeing as the na is giving me some trouble im going to postpone putting in the microtech LT12S from next month to maybe the month after or the one after that when i want to do a full swap...

    now the plan is to get;
    - the TT engine;
    - TT 3 stage fuel pump (or kartbro has a bosch for a V8 supercar... might use that!);
    - front mount (or may stick with the factory twin coolers for the time being coz i'm still on my P's)
    - two ATR25's to replace factory hair dryers...
    - the LT12S and
    - all the usual stuff here and their like custom turbo back brakes etc...

    drop the whole lot in at the same time... i'll probs do the front mount later with some decent sard injectors at the same time...

    now my question to you all is this...

    what am i forgetting? and once all this is complete; what sort of rear wheel KW will i be looking at???

    cheers ppl...

    suggest you do some proper research on what is needed RE: TT conversion.
    To name a few things, radiator mounts need to be moved and modified, shim plate for starter must be used (if using NA gearbox that is, also TT clutch and fly etc). NA air con WILL NOT WORK WITH A TT. Some pipes can be massaged into place but others will need to be sourced from a TT. NA loom will work with a TT if you're using a boost controller. Few other bits here and there but have a search and also try twinturbo.net , are you up for this kind of work? (not having a go, just interested on your experience)

    First things first you said your on p's...really wanna risk it?? It only takes a reasonably cluey cop to figure out its turbo and your sorta screwed...

    Are you buying an engine on its own or a half cut?? Ive heard half cuts are the way to go as you have all the little bits and pieces already there to use and don't have to chase them down on there own.

    sorry forgot to mention... im gonna go with a tt box too so i wont have to shim the na... i'll probs go with a half cut for the bits and pieces etc...

    yeah i know about the rad, the holes on the bottom don't line up and the air con doesnt fit coz of the dumps... im getting the LT12S so i wont have to worry about computer or loom... just clips...

    did i leave anything out?

    and i'm well and truly up for it... my dad is a mechanic, my best mate has done motorsport at SQUID in qld and hes starting mech engineering now and i quite my mechanics apprenticeship after a week coz i new more than their second year apprentice (toyota dealership) and most of my mates are mechanics... i would like to think i know my way around a car to an extend but i'm not afraid to admit if i don't know something... thats how u learn right? the only thing i have ever taken my car to a shop for is the drivers side window (motor was seized so i couldnt get the motor and reg out!) besides would i be posting here asking for advice if i was that full of my self or knew everything??? i dont have the facilities to do the lot, the actual swap will be done at my local dyno shop, the bloke their know's his way around these fairly well...

    ps... the reason i have started this thread is to get opinions and ideas... not to be questioned... i know their is heaps of threads on how to... i dont need to know how to do it i want your ideas and opinions... you guys have done this before me so you know the ins and outs... what works what doesnt etc...

    cheers mate... just for the record i wasn't arcing up in my last post, too many of these threads turn into arguments (partially the reason i got over reading others and started this one!)

    i appreciate your help thank you... so what are the thought, do you the ATR25's and the LT12S will prove to be a good combination?

    how much boost is the right boost? i'll be very happy with that!

    did any one hear anything more on the test project car of hypergear? the factory tt with the ATR25's?

    14-15 psi, i reckon thats the right boost, makes it feel real sharp.

    12 psi can still pull strong but it wont want to break traction like on 15

    sweet as, so do u think this will be a good setup?

    that hypergear guy was claiming they'd get 270rwkw with factory everything and the ATR25's... wtf?

    its a big call, but i guess its possible if the efficiency of the turbo's was dramatically increased.

    The biggest restriction in the stock set up is teh exhast from teh cat back, everything else is good enough for 230rwkw in my opinion

    230 rwkw isn't much though...That's what, 320 rwhp?

    If you're throwing new turbos on it, through something big on it....Or at-least bigger then stock!

    Hello Disco Potatoes?

    i have opted for these as they will set me back $1500 for the pair... anything else will literally cost me thousands won't they?

    the jump in cost to go over 250rwkw is huge.

    thats when u need big turbo's ,injectors, new dumps, the list goes on

    not from what i've read? You need the TT pipes or you won't be able to fit the intercooler piping past it? Care to elaborate because this would help me greatly if i could keep my NA system
