ok, as the title suggests, my car wont start, altho there is nothing really new about that since it has only started 3 times in teh last 12 months, this time there was no excuses. 2nd hand yellow top optima (thanks AK), nice clean gold connectors for battery terminals, and it DID start 2 times in the last 5 days easily without issue, and ran nice for about 15 mins each time now all i get it clicking when i turn the key... am thinking ignition fuse, or starter motor.. anyone got any other ideas/comments??
sounds like a dead bat the clicking is the starter ingauging but it cant turn over its the starter geat hitting on the teath. Just recharge it and it should be sweat.
YELLOW TOP OPTIMA..- cant charge them apparently.... everything else in car runs perfect tho, thats why i thinking it could be one of those boxy fuses you cant see into
have you tryed you old bat or a diff bat ? Even if it as on old bat you can still charge it and use it but with in 2 days it wull be dead again. If it was a starter fuse (I didnt think there was one) then the starter wouldnt even click
flat battery get ra to come and start it and then go for a long drive like 30min ++++ to give it a good charge....
ok wehn i get home ill jump start the car, but if that dont work i gonna come back again... my old bat left this world a long time ago in the fuse box under bonnet, there is one there that is an ignition fuse... (it says ignition on it so i assume thats what it is for)
snapped tailshaft, it aint going no where.. just got battery and brackets (shaft this week hopefully) and then it will be fixed when i get holidays in jan then it can drive till some thing else breaks again
thats optimistic... im half expecting something to fall off before i get off me driveway, if not out of the shed... i was told not to charge the battery with a bettery charging machine thing.. dunno but thats what i was told... will try jump starting tonight...
where did you hear that bullshit lol ,i suggest you do some research Battery Charger (Constant Voltage): 13.8 to 15.0 volts; 10 amps maximum; 6-12 hours approximate
damn it, i have finished school... i thought research wouldnt be needed once i had left that horrible place....
tried jump starting and it failed... ended up getting pissed off with the damn thing and threw a hammer at the car (landed near the battery, surprised it didnt crack the battery) then went away for half an hour came back and it started....
i had just bought brand spanking new gold plated connectors and had cleaned the battery terminals before i put the battery in 6 days ago...
i aint a tool, i know how to connect a battery, and if you read the original post properly, i said that it WAS working in the first place, several days ago, and only this time it stopped..
So your conclusion is throwing a hammer at your battery fixed the problem? Nice! lol The battery is probably dodgy, get it tested.
