I have my eye on another Z32 N/A 91 2 seater Fairlady Z but it has a different engine number to normal. The number is VG3002. Does anyone know if this is good/bad and where does the engine come from. It looks pretty normal in the engine bay but you cant judge a book by its cover eh.

It will have a lot more numbers than that. Where are you looking for the engine number?

Sorry, should have said "starts with VG3002 rather than VGDE"

    The engine number is VG30028412W

Yes that is a typical VG30 engine number. Remember the engine number won't have anything to do with DE (twin cam/fuel injection) as that gear is on the top of the engine, not the block.
