unfortunalty thats how the car market is like....come on like some plastic bits cost a fortune as well, because in the end they know you have no choice but to buy it....and also the market is not that that big.....

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I am looking for some polished hardpipes too, except for an NA zed  I remember seeing these somewhere a while ago but they were like $400 or $500, and the NA only has 2 pipes!! 2 for the price of 4... forget that

I thought Caz was planning to make some ages ago but I guess it never went through, perhaps not enough demand?

its like the dump pipes as well.... they are priced from likr $400 USD to 600
How can they charge 400 for a pair of stainless steel dump pipes.... and the same price for the engine hardpipes!?!?!? IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE

if they werent looking to make 10,000% profit on their product, they could make 100% out of $150 rather than 0% out of 400

I got NA hardpipes from U.S for about the $130 delivered. Included a pod filter. They did the job fine, even got them powdercoated. Im all for ebay stuff.

Exhaust shop will make them for you. Not polished, but stainless steel. I had a set on the last zed and got them made for $80 for the 4 from quikfit, and polished them up by hand.

I bought a hard pipe kit of ebay ages ago for about $140 posted no probs with them at all exept the suplied clamps were shit house.

The only slight prob is that the oute hard pipes arnt bent in the best shape there just a bit out requiring a bit of fideling to fit but other wise all good.

You will be suprised how much they bling ur engine bay out :D

i got hardpipes off ebay for $150 delivered too. The clamps were not that bad...they were the nut-and-bolt type clamps, although one of the pipes were too long and needed a bit of cutting, and a bit of brasso made them very nice and shiney.

i'll consider the $250 saving as my own labour costs for polishing and cutting :-D

mate i couldn't care if they were diamond studded platinum.... $600 bucks is just ridiculous... i know you feel silly everytime you see the same thing that has been bought for under 200.

lol yeah i wanna see them too.

kinda just to justify $600 for 0% performance gain..

polished hard pipes do absolutely nothing for power or handling..

for $50 yeah i'd do it.. but other than that.. they'll stay oem rubber.

I've fitted and boost leak tested a number of different sets of hard pipes and there are big differences in the quality and fit of the various units. Cheap clamps that don't seal right and strip, pipes that don't line, up 2 ply instead of 3 or 4 ply silicon hose all adds up to a saving but I think it is unfare to claim that Caz is ripping people off until you have personal experience of the various products. Cheap wormdrive clamps costing a few cents each save money but I would rather pay the extra for a quality clamp, and with 8 clamps being needed it can make a difference.

Well the thing is, the hard pipes I have are a different size to 90% of all other for sale. Only similar ones I had seen were HKS ones and they were more expensive again. My kit came with top quality Silicon and hardcore clamps.

ill get a pic when i have time
