exhaust... because it makes ur car sound heaps better.. rims are a easy job... u can pick them up from any tyre shop and fit them urself... or u can find a shop that will hire them out to you (u be a rolling billboard).. i think it was 100 bux a week (new rims every week that that price) thats what i got offered..but depends where u go.... but get a exhaust u get ur car sounding mean.... thats a head turner right there... not with a weedeater exhaust and rims...
Rims imo. I got my exhaust done, it was cool n all. but nothing like getting a new set of wheels.. Rims are a hard choice though, they either make or break the car.. choose wisely.. ps Avoid chrome
I would ask myself what does the car need more, when I came to this decision I chose the exhaust first, basically to clean up the back end with some nice shiny tips / high flow mufflers & the obvious performance from the rest of it. Though, purchasing some new shoes for the Z (or any car) can really transform the look of it it's up to you, to what you feel would be more beneficial at this moment, until it's time to spend some more cash on the other. (Or just get both! in a "perfect" world of money...) Cheers, Mike
for me its the exhaust. i love the way my zed sounds more than care about the cheesy wheels i have on... check out the vid link in my sign for a listen... if you go down the exhaust route, then get yourself some stock skyline wheels. they look great on the zed this is my car a whileeeeee ago with skyline wheels. u can prob get a set for like $150...maybe even sprey them black if you want it darker would look good aswell wheels are one of my final touches. i have been concentrating on other things more than wheels. i find that wheels are probably the biggest outcome to compliment the look of the car. its a very hard choice to pick the right look you are going for and the wheels play an enourmous role in that department. so untill i find some mint wheels for the price i want ill grab them, untill then ill role on some cheesy wheels lol...
Wheels most ppl will notice a flash new set of wheels before they see the new bling zorst tips . & nothing looks more wankerville than a grumbly zorst system on a car with stocky rims( unless you drive a VL ), yet they wont say a damn thing if you have nice wheels and a stock zorst Wheel choice is the one thing that will dramatically change the looks of your car, as said above..... choose wisely Kingy
im with chad... get the zorsts... and get some stockies from some other car.. anton (forum user) has got 350z rims on his car.. looks mean... check them out.. not expensive either..
Depends on whats left on your stocks.. don't replace them if they are brand new.. Get the zorst.. put some more wear on your stocks.. then get the rims
Because, Red and Chrome is Vile.. Black n chrome is the only acceptable form.. Red n polished Gunmetal looks sick. though
The Question is.... Are you a Go'er or a Show'er? Do you want looks or do you want performance...?? Do you want to be a slow boring wuss, with nice wheels, or do you want to be a jap racer??????????? But do me a favour, and don't be a nOOb and figure out the correct offset before making a wheels decision!
Have you done the 100k service, plenum pull and everything else to get the mechanicals up to 100 ? You can find amazing bargains on wheels on ebay - especially 17". You need patience though. I got my as new, 17x8" chromies with near new tyres for $500 (came off a magna) Big cannons look nice, especially when polished. Just watch out for the drone. Sounds great for a while, but you get sick of it after a while
Cant be as bad as the sound of a MR2. those things drive me insane. i hate the noise. Its like a supercharged lawn mower. I Think go With A new Set of wheels 1st. :zlove:
Why is that? It had a system when i bought the car and wheels too. But my car is currently getting a new one custom made and installed as we speak. As you can see it has one tip, where as i wanted one each side.
i think that was his point, as to alot of people, the single is crap on a 300 as it was designed for twin, and yer.....
SAY NO TO CANNONS These cars came with four tips and look great with 4 SS tips, 2.5-3 inch tips look magic (my 2 inch ones look too small). But I'd do wheels first. Change look and improve handling with better tyres. Exhaust only makes your car look good from one angle. Exhaust can be done later when you want to start with power mods. My aim with my car is get it mechanicaly and cosmeticaly clean then do the performance mods.
I have the same view on the exhaust. These are my current wheels, not stock but not great they came with the car and are a bit worn, I think I could do much better.
Those rims arent too bad, very sleek, stockish, deoends what look your after though.. Best bet would be to make a list of everything that needs to be done and sort it from most important to least, weighing in Cost - Need and timeframes.... My list is Get it running right Exhaust 100k Interior bodykit respray plenum
