Well what a day.... Very sunburnt but well worth it that's for sure!

Our drift car landed in the A Class, top 16 even though we were having a few teething problems but got knocked out in the first battle due to external wastegate problems; resulting in no boost!.

    Here's a few pics...

    Well Done boys :D :D :D

Sweet looking car Tom, who's driving it? Great to see another Z based business putting back into motorsport.(Especially Drift ;) ) Its fun isnt it

And Zzz a second in B class for your first real Comp round is just awesome!! You have to be proud of that result and those pics of your Zed are mad!! I have printed the top one and put it up here for all to see !

We are off to Tassie in just over 2 weeks for the first 08 DA round... VERY nervous lol.

    Caz.. :)

A friend of mine Tarquin is driving... This is his second year drifting and now with some good sponsorship deals with PZP and the local exhaust shop we're looking at shaping him and his R32 into a real winner.

We won a trophy for best presented which is great for the first meet... One per meet would be great! :D :p ;)

Drifting is such a great sport and we're encouraging everyone to get down and spectate or participate... Zzz needs some backup! The PZP Drift Z should only be a month or two off... Roll cage is going in this week.

Oh and bad luck for WA... DA doesn't love us! :(

Thats so good to hear Tom, Congratulations on the Trophy ! yeah I'm biased  but its just such a fun sport to be involved in! Top bunch of people and exciting to watch.

It is disappointing that there is no DA round in WA this year :( , I was looking forward to getting over there. The idea is one major trip per season, so this year that is Tassie since last year it was WA. DA does love WA :zlove: :zlove:

WA has what I'm sure is the countries largest, most professional Drift Team with Slide-FX, they will be sporting some Zeds this year too. There are about 7 350Z's currently being built for DA.

    My delayed write up...

Hey guys, a bit late, but better than never!

Just wanted to wait till I had a chance to download the video from the day!

Z-rated has already summed up what happened though.

2nd sure sounds good, but it doesn't mean I deserved it, lol! I got it due to most people not entering due unfinished cars and a few that did enter having problems and withdrawing early. In all fairness there shouldn't have been a group B at all!

Anyway, the tyre issues I have been having showed an improvement, with me picking up a couple of sets before the event. However they are certainly not over! In between some of the runs one of my fronts decided to deflate, me not knowing why I decided best to throw the toyo's on the front instead of chancing it dis-inflating again mid slide. While I had been wanting to experiment with lots of different tyre set ups, the frequency that I was on the track, and the timings of battles meant I didn't get a chance to change them at all! (so much for my big plans)

Anyway here is the quick video I made up on youtube Clicky Clicky!

As for the future, watching 'Tribal' Brad roll with my own eyes made me think a bit about how much I love this car. You'll see in the video that as I push myself harder in the first round of the battle I have quite a bad off at C-red corner. To be honest I see myself doing quite similar things to him and that worries me. While Id love to be able to afford to buy and race-prep a slicktop, I simply can't afford to do that at the moment. So I'm thinking about importing something already heavily modified to last me between now and the built slicktop. As for the immediate future, well, I'm cautious about taking the Z out "for one last run" because it seems those are famous last words, but that doesn't mean Im piking out either! I may take the Z out once more, but I am going to try taking out my little 86 for a bash instead. It is somewhat much more heavily modified as far as suspension goes, but with the factory NA 1.6L engine, im gunna struggle at Barbegello. While I don't love the 86 as much as Z, chances are Im going to need to sell it to buy this import, so I'll still need to be careful with it!

Anyway, Thanks for reading and enjoy the video!

Niiice. 450hp is right up there in the limits for a reasonably modified SR20 tho!

  17. Zzz

    Zzz SidewayZ

A bit more evidence of the above...

As you can see, pushing hard for battles could lead me to damage my Z

So yeah, if it comes out again, it'll be a lax, I don't mind coming last me...

This probably looks more extreme than it was, but that doesn't mean it would be better next time...
