If you have to ask it's not a job you should be doing. Take the good advice and get a GOOD panelbeater to do it. The sill is spot welded in ... it's not a unbolt the old one and bolt the new one in type of job.
If you're referring to the black rubber strip at the bottom of the glass, that is a window sill, NOT a door sill(which is the body panel running under the door, hence the confusion).:zlove:
yes that has been corrected on questioning by simmo on my preceding post. it is part metal part rubber. i think it isnt really a great deal to remove it. someone must have done it. i reckon it is somehow hooked to a another strip that bolted to the door.i dunno.
Yes, I have replaced all of mine myself... There is a tab near the end of the door (pillar) that it pushes into. You need to carefully pull it from the tab, and then it will slide out from under the mirror. Have you tried looking for a TA? I'm sure there is one explaining how to, with pictures (try twinturbo.net)
It has clips secured to the body that it pushes on to. Take the end caps off the trim and you will see them. Theres a whole bunch of write ups on twinturbo.net on how to replace every trim piece. Go have a read. Should only be a half hour job.
It's a good thing the Z32's don't rust like the MGB's (or 240-280 for that matter) On the MGB it was common to put another sill on top of the old one to hide the rust (door sills goes under the doors)
