i have been told these wont bolt up as they have a 14mm bolt rather than our 12...

can anyone tell me why it isnt possible to just drill out the mounts to suit? is there somehting im missing here?

    any advice welcomed!

I am guessing coz the tollerances would be affected if you drill out the mounts say you aply your brakes harshley full on like on a track day and you could find stress lines/cracks on the mounts.

Sadly due to the fact that the thread is in the caliper there is no satisfactory solution to the issue. :(

All you would need to do is drill the holes out to 14mm in the caliper mount but this would not be recommended.

You found R34 for cheaper? Sell them on SAU then, cause the R34's cost more on SAU from what I've seen :/

Shit load of Zeds in the UK with the R34 calipers mate, drill out 2mm from the hubs. The 34's are obviously newer than the R33's to stick with em, plus they look sexy in Gold :D

You could always put a helicoil in the caliper...

    Helicoil might for brake calipers

It is a good idea to use a helicoil for the brake calipers well done Crispy. But I would still not recommend it because it is a safety issue and it might be illegal.

is the rotors for the r43 gtr and r33 gtr the same?

I got the r33 gtr rotor upgrade, so if i was to get the r34 or even the 350z calipers will it fit on the rotor if i drill out the 12mm to 14mm.

    Drilling Calipers

It is Ok to Drill the calipers from 12 to 14mm and since you are only removing 1mm on radius it will not significantly weaken the mounts. But it is not designed that way and I therefore cannot recommend to do it as much as I would like to.

I would prefer this solution to a helicoil!

Helicoil's are just as strong as normal threads. I'd be much happier putting a helicoil in my caliper rather than drilling out the hub.

Chrispy mentioned before on another thread that 350z/R34 GTR rotors are different to R33 GTR??

Sort of, I think that Z33 rotor are offset differently to GTR calipers of either type. Diameter and thickness are the same
