I'm guessing Ron must've had converter leads for the Series II to get you back on the road quickly. For permanent fitting, best to remove the original plugs and solder the Series II plugs directly into the loom. It took me a couple of hours to do this, but I took my time, plus my soldering skills aren't wonderful. I think it took Z-ster about an hour to resolder Caz's Zed when she upgraded to a Series II. Have you noticed any change in performance, I didn't? I reckon the improvement is just in reliability. Therefore, my grey Zed still runs a Series I almost 200,000 and the PTU that came out of the Godfather is a spare (must put it into the glovebox). Cheers, Peter
I hate you Lloyd, You just wait the next time we meet up....your a gonner. And in Ron's case - i presume it wasnt the zed (HOPEFULLY!!)
Where's the Love, Ali...where's the Love(you didn't hate me when I gave you those OEM Side Mounts, did you)?:bash::biggrin::zlove:
Yes Peter, Ron had the loom so ezi fix. I have a series 2 loom so I will use it as I do not possess the skills that John has when it comes to electronics.
I'm afraid it was the zed Lloyd, busted the spoiler, centre garnish and tail lights (2000 spec), third brake light, etc. Not a good start to the new year.
i fed them side mounts to the dogs. FMIC till i die!!! Muhahaha Lloyd can you help me do a Plenum Pull? lol
Why would a legendary "Puller" like you. need assistance from an old fart like me(besides, we have Laws against that kind of thing, don't we)?:zlove::zlove:
Hope you're OK, Ron... no whiplash or anything. The Zed sound repairable, but I guess as long as you're OK the car doesn't really matter.
All the love (Pics) I'm humbled,:zlove: I was only following the MZM creed, we can't leave a fellow Zedder stranded on the roadside now can we. And besides, how many times has Ports helped me. Yes sorry to say, took the Zed out of the garage today to give it a run as battery was getting a bit low, Bad decision. Rear ended, took off from the lights, two lanes merging into one, ignorant bus driver forces his way in, traffic comes to a halt, except the truck behind me. Not a good feeling watching him in the mirror and knowing you are going to get hit. Not as bad as first thought, but bad enough, Boot floor buckled,Spoiler cracked, rear valance cracked, third brake light broken, rear bar, etc, etc. All repairable, but just pissed off at the down time again, and the time organizing it all again, Police reports, ins companies, quotes, panel beaters, obtaining parts, some from Japan, The love affair with this car is just about over, just like a spoilt woman, lavished with the best gifts, feted in all the best places, mixed in the best of circles, given the best of everything, and what do you get in return, just more heartache and pain, i'm just about over it.
It looks bad, but not as bad as it could have been(and at least you're not injured). I know how you must feel right about now, gutted. We all feel your pain Mate, but not as much as we will if you decide to "pull the plug". This community can't stand to lose someone of your caliber(and we won't let you go without a bloody good fight).:zlove::zlove: Hang in there Mate, we're all behind you, Cheers Lloyd & Lynn:zlove::zlove:
Ah crap Wiz, sorry to see her all broken like that. Do not despare though mate, it wasn't her fault that there are complete tools on the road who don't give a fcuk about road rules. Only problem is that your livery will have to come off for the new paint.
Sorry to see Ron... And know how you feel about giving up on the Z, I have been in the same boat (as have a lot of members). Chin up, and hopefully she'll be sorted and back on the road soon... problem free :zlove: Jono
Oh, come on, you bloody big sook... it's hardly a scratch!! Prob'ly wouldn't even slow your ET by one-tenth...!!! Just rip it off and get the glue-gun working... Glad you're OK, Wiz....
donations to...???? Where do we donate to fix the crack in Ron's ass end  Hope your ok Ron and it wont be long before your back on the road. Typical of the bus drivers to just force their way into the traffic... we've had many incidents up here where it was fast moving traffic and Mr/Mrs Bus driver pulls out without a care in the world knowing that they have that big magical "Give way to me, because i'm too lazy to look" sticker on the back. If there is anything we can do to get you back on the road quicker let us know and we'll be more than happy to help. Fate
Bad luck mate. That really sucks, looks like the tailights survived the ordeal. Good luck getting it all fixed.
Pftt thats a scratch compared to mine mate! I had no front quarters on either side . All the mines bigger than yours aside mate, I hate seeing your beautiful zed bent mate, and atleast you are in one piece and insurance will pay for it mate. Thank god it wasnt you going into the back of the bus (and having to pay). I hate bus drivers and taxi drivers, stupid arrogant, twats and crap drivers at that:bash: :banned: . If you need any help buzz me, Mattb
