When i turn the engine off and when its on turbo timer the fan belt is still spinning and you can still hear the noise that y i am pretty sure its the fan belt making noise .. correct me if I am wrong. now the question is can i fix that easily or need to replce the belt? and if I need to replace it where can i buy it cheap. I have a spare timing belt can i use that??? I need this done urgentlt that y not going on ebay or concept Z need something in Perth? any one know who sell this? and what's the part number and stuff? Total nissan is out of the question as they charge forture of a little things :bash:
your answer is in the tech section ,1/ try adjusting it first,2/ no you cannot use your timing belt for a fan belt :bash: ,and 3/ you can get a fan belt from any auto shop read me and learn how to adjust a fan belt
here we go again,he wants to tighten it,not clean and moisturize it :bash: Try adjusting it properly,if that doesnt work then replace it,rubbing soap on it is only a temporary fix
ummm i think start off with the wax trick. and hot300zx i dont think he knows what he wants. timing belt to replace fan belt??????, try the soap trick
Next you'll tell us that my idea to "just turn up the stereo until you can't hear the noise" itsn't any good either in all seriuoseness,... if its JUST at start up, there's nothing wrong with the "moisturiser" option (i used a slight spray of WD40/CRC but i believe you can buy some actual "anti-squeel" spray for this job) But if it's all the time as you've descibed, hell yeah adjust or even replace the belt. Cheep fix. No excuse to bugger your car down the line because you ignored a small fix like this.
Yep. Same as my WD40 idea.... even though I know heaps of people that have done it to stop a start up squeek. Think the trick is... TINY TINY bit. Of course if you "lube it up" you're in for a world of hurt. LOL had a colt that died that way. Oil leak sprayed onto belts, water pump belt popped off, Im overtakeing a truck when total loss of power and black smoke out the back. That car died big time lol. $1000 well spent HAHA (cost of the car that is lol)
Thats a damn good tip. Also good for Hayfever, AND... when driving your car after purchsing interstate, and the head cracks in the middle of the Nullabore, you can survive by eating your car. Perfect!!!
Just adjust the f#%^&*g thing. It's no big deal and you could have done it in the time youve spent reading this bullshit
Dude man Talk to Tom from Perth Zed performance he will have them in stock and what not. ( ZRATED forum ID ) Also I'll be chicking you idler pulley and AC Pulley. Hope this helps.. shaq
