Hey I was lookin around for some info on the famous blade 300zx from toowoomba qld. apparently it used to run 7's on street trim. Now that sounds pretty impossible but makes me curious. I can't find s*$t all on him even on the toowoombacarforum website. I remember seeing this car for sale on ebay like 5 years ago but that's about it. Specs would be good Cheers Nate
You don't meen the old ZedSled do you? Benny had that up at Toowoomba for a while. Didn't run 7's though To run 7's you normally need about 2000hp and slicks the size of dumptruck tyres.
maybe hes thinking of that blade guy that was on here at one point.... with blade 2.. the signature that badly needed to be re-photo shopped lol
Dont make me look like a fool! Someone's got to remember it. Black with silver vinyl of like the predator or something like that. Veilside bodykit - his name was terry from toowoomba sold and the car went overseas to the US a few years ago. I read on toowoomba forum that it went 7s could be wrong but apparently VERY quick. Just want to know how quick.
I kind of remember it. No way in hell it could run a 7 in the 1/4. I reckon it might have run a 7 sec 1/8 mile which is what they sometimes run out in the sticks at places like toowoomba. As a guide my 12.504 1/4 mile shows up as a 8.013 at the 1/8 mile marker, so a low to mid 12 sec car could run in the 7s for the eighth.
I know the Blade Zed Yes it was black with chrome vinyl stickers up the side, targa, 17" 5 spoke mags, had "BLADE" as number plate and his name was Terry. Yes it used to be here in Toowoomba a few years ago, but let me be the first to tell you that it did NOT run 7's! It was not very far from stock actually. It was in very tidy condition though. I was chatting to a bloke from NQX Turbos here in town and he told me that it blew the turbos and he rebuilt the stock turbos but high-flowed them. That is all that has been done to it! (oh, apart from the obvious Front mount on it) Certainly no street machine, but still quick non-the-less. Why do you ask if it's now overseas?
Was wondering Because I was doing a bit of searching about ECU's and found a post up about this car doing a 7 which I thought was impossible and was wondering if there was a reason no-one has spoken about it. Even it was not as quick but still say an 11 sec car I thought I would have heard about it. That answers my questions but from memory it was nowhere near stock plus I did search a lot last night and found the link to ebay where it was for sale but link now removed. Had over $120,000 spent on it I remember the shopping list and it was loooooooooong. Thanks guys, my curiousity is now gone. Nate
If a Z32 can have "over $120000" spent on it, and not be easily remembered by people on this forum, I would suggest that it must have been eminently forgettable in the performance area(perhaps there should be at least one zero removed from that estimate?).
If you have a link to this supposed 120k spend on it, i'd like to have a look also. because i've seen it and can tell you off the bat - there is NO way it's had this much spent on it.
lol 120k spent on it and only a VS kit    seriously, how could a z32 run a 7 in aus in street spec n none of us know about it? member of the forum or not. and a 120k shopping list is a total makeover man. there is a 1500hp supra street legal, runs 7.6 or 7.8 or something... just to give you a example, and its all light weight ( no kit). im thinking you read a 1/8th time aswell, also kinda remember the Blade name. p.s. if it got sold to the us (rhd ftw) have a look a TT.net?
Jeez, Ron, even my NA will cut 9's over the 1/8th mile (Wakerie, Nov 2005). It gets slower after that, though!
Wouldn't be this would it? I found this being referred to as a "Blade" car...... http://custom.autos.yahoo.com/galle...c6KWY5IwIStwX08kF?photo_cat=all&start=0&sel=0
