Hi Guys. So im at the point of getting a torque converter spec'd up for the single turbo build, and am trying to get some more info around the JUN 272 (9.5 Intake and Exhaust) cams, Ideally like the JWT cam spec card, but i cant get this from JUN as they dont reply to emails. Does anyone know how they compare to a JWT cam, could one of there spec cards be close? Any help is appreciated. Cheers. Col
They don’t do cam spec cards... it’s pretty frustrating. If you want to get an idea of poweband etc have a look in my build thread there are some dyno charts.
I actually got a reply from a Jun mechanic. Told me how to measure them lol Who has a set not fitted they want to measure JUN Auto Mechanic 3-1-7 Sekimachikita Nerimaku Tokyo Tel 81-3-3920-4165 Fax 81-3-3594-2689 Feb 3 Dear Mr. Nolan Thank you for your mail. We dont have any data with cam lift 0.050 "which you wanted. 1. Take the center angle 110 degree from TDC at the primary cam lobe in the intake cam and 115 degree in the exhaust cam. Thank you,
After a fair few back and forth emails with Jun, I do believe I have the answer-for anyone interested. Dear Colin > How are you? Its 230 degree at 0.05 inch lift. But its difficult to take a measurement because of HLA.
110° ATDC for the intake is surprising to me, the OE manual cam is 125° ATDC while the OE automatic cam is 120°. So the JUN 272 would be advanced by 10 to 15°... are these meant to be a non-VTC cam?
Hi mate. I really don’t know to be honest, this is far from my level of expertise. But I will not be using VTC
