Hi cant seem to fix sticking throttle after full foot to the floor run. scares the shit out of me after foot to the floor runs, I replaced the cable thinking it would help but no difference at all. only happens after to the floor acceleration. any other options would be helpful.
I will have a look I think they have been cut and plated over but I guess the pipe is still in the intake.
Rob will be correct, I had the same problem while racing once, a bit disconcerting to say the least! just tap them back into housing.
So for people like me who don't know what stuff is called its the green grey tubes that go into the black thingy between the timing belt cover and the intake manifold check for clearance where the throttle rod rotates all the complex cams and shit gets stuck. $219 new cable hammer priceless. Live n learn.:bash::bash:
you guys need to be checking your pcv valves too, if its popping the pipes off then it is likely pressurising the crankcase. which is not ideal
possibly low compression on one or more cylinders due to ring seal, yes how are your compression numbers?
No idea :rolleyes2: I would need to do a comp test to find out. It is on the "ill get to it one day" list.
Stretching my memory here, there's also a little tab on the TB pulley that your cable runs over which hits a stop so the butterfly's don't open past the max, which isn't fully open, it's like 99% open, so you don't f**k your return springs. There is a DIY mod which bends this tab, or similar so it doesn't hit the stop and you WOT is actually based on the butterfly being at 90 degrees, it does nothing but damages your return springs, first sign is that they stick at WOT. Check this.
Not sure Cow(advancing age and senility are both responsible for this lamentable situation).:br:
