    wired up my evo gauges

Put my evo gauges in last night

Couldnt decide if I wanted them red or blue so I hooked them up to my stereo

If im listening to music they are blue like my stereo. Otherwise they are red : D

Waynoz, looks great! If a CD is in there but paused, do the gauges stay on blue? What about when it's on radio or with AUX, etc. connections? Planning on getting some Prosport gauges later this year.

Would depend on how your audio player works.

The gauges I have have 2 main power wires. A primary and a secondary. The wiring is supposed to be hooked up to the acc and the headlight wire.

If you have power from the main (which is constant) then depending on which wire you connect it will make the gauges red or blue.

But once the secondary power wire is active (by switching on the headlights) then it overrides the primary wire and changes colour.

Simply hook the secondary wire up to your audio player amp wire (the one that tells your amp to switch on when it gets power) and that way when your amp has power, you have a different colour.

I have a few leds hooked up to the amp wire and ground as you will notice in the video. When my amp turns on I get blue leds light up the footwell under the dash...

    Simple electronics :)

Tore out the boot trim only to find out my car smells like someone or something took a piss in it... Literally... Hosed down the whole boot, used a nice smelling car wash to sponge every corner down, dried it only to still have the smell still lurking somewhere. ARGHHHHHH!!!

Sounds like a rat/ mouse has lived in your Z - the urine smell hangs around badly

You might have to check under the rear speaker trims and keep an eye out for rat droppings in any crevices/ or the side panels

Will have to fine the time to go through it again, i tore out all the boot trim all the way down to the parcel shelf and narrowed it down to the little hole by the strut tower but the smell is just ridiculous, my nose can only take so much punishment.

Looks great Instamatic - are you going to clear the indicators and rear side markers? (can see you've done the rear lights) Or leaving it stock deliberately?

Cheers dude. Nah, I'm keeping it pretty stock. The rear lights are 98-spec, so they're stock too. I'm not really a fan of aftermarket lights.

Nope. You're not thinking of the Nismo ones are you? The rear clearance lights/reflectors were only ever red or orange. depending on model year, while the indicators were always orange.

The side indicators only came orange from Nissan, Most people including myself buy the Nismo clear side indicators which are an identical part to the Z32 indicator only clear.

The rear markers came as 3 different options

1st type was a red reflector type mostly found on JDM models from 89-98

2nd type was a red reflector with a globe cut out for illumination found on USDM models 90-96

3rd type was orange and also has the cut out for illumination and was found only on JDM 98-00 models.

Got new tyres and man what a difference in handling. Went for a proper drive and enjoyed the car. Still have no air conditioning so the end of summer is very welcome.
