Awesome write up Adam! Pm me your email and I'll send through the shots I got of your car! Once again thanks Mark for organizing the whole event. Best zed event I've attended so far
Happy you guys had a great time. I was stuck in Laverton at work thinking about ya all............ Who was the dick who did the burnout ?? Dumb ass........ what camera did you end up buying Col ??
Wouldn't call it a burnout, more like got a bit how ya goin in a grass field and someone watching must of called the police. Wasn't me though haha
There were a couple of cheeky ones re entering the carpark at watsonia. Not much but enough to upset someone around the area.
Literally, just arrived back home in NSW. Was a great way to remember Doug. Got to meet his son, a real chip off the old block, and Doug's wife. They were surprised that we made the effort to be there, but its what you do for our Zed family. We asked Jedi-77 and Renzed to keep it quiet that we were going to attend, and surprised everyone when Kitty lobbed into the carpark. Big thanks to Jedi-77 for Putting all this together, and a big thanks to Renzed and R31 Gagz for lead the way to the Watsonia Carpark and putting up with us on Saturday afternoon. We would have got lost without you guys. I have to upload my pics and vids of the day for posting here at a later date. The chosen route was fantastic. "Spirited driving" was an understatement. We had Kitty digging in hard on some very tight corners to keep up with one group. Great bunch of guys and plenty of great cars. Doug would have loved it. I'm sure Doug must have had something to do with the weather, as it was a Perfect day.
Agreed, 20 degrees with light cloud cover, exactly as I had hoped for in the coming events thread. Cheers to Dougie! :zlove: Pleasure meeting yourself and your partner Graham, excellent day seeing the regulars again and putting some faces to usernames I haven't met before.
It was one hell of a surprise, I can tell you! It was great to meet you both, and was amazing that you made the effort to come down and join us. It also shows to the truest extent what this forum can do for us as people. Yes, we connect initially about the car, but it can also be about so much more. Some of the best people in my life I met through this club. After an early start, and a long day, I was so wrecked when I posted the pics that I forgot to say a massive thanks to Mark for putting this together. You did good, bud. Real good! Thanks! Right back at you. Looking forward to catching up again soon. 5D3 + 70-200 F2.8 IS ii. Wanna join the cool kids at Canon?
Jedi's pics and writeup Firstly, I would like to thank everyone that come on the cruise. It was a top effort seeing so many faces and Zeds arrive at the car park. It was great seeing old faces and new faces of the Zed community. Also big thanks to some of the old timers, who's Zeds are currently off the road, but still made an effort to come on the cruise. Ie; Jack (zxtt-1) as passenger with Andrew (Kr4usy), Amy (Kr4usy's wife in the white SV6)with baby Ethan, Alex (badxtc), Kirby and baby Leo in the black BMW, and Pete (WYKKED) on the Harley. Top effort guys. If Doug was still with us, he would not have missed an event like this. So its fitting then that we had such a great turn out, and I'm sure, he was there with us in spirit. It was also great seeing Sandra and Tim (Dougs wife and Son) on the day. Sandra came to the morning meet point to say hello and was awed by the sheer turn out. She's not a car person, but was touched to see the awesome turnout for Doug. Tim was with us on the cruise, and as a long time Zed owner, it was great to see his white "Baroo" Zed on the road again. Lets not forget, that the cruise was held on Dougs Birthday, so I'm sure emotions were high in the family. So once again, big thanks to Sandra and Tim. Must also thank our interstate visitor, Graham (gmbrezzo) and his partner, for driving down for the cruise! It was awesome to meet you guys in the flesh and see Kitty in person. I'm sure Kitty had a great chance to stretch her claws in some of those corners As I stated at the start of the cruise, I will be making this an annual cruise. The route will be slightly different each year and it will be sometime in the first weeks of November. So bring on 2015 !! Ok, onto the pics! So the meetup point was Watsonia Railway station. A nice big open car park for Zeds to mingle and park safely. Stopping for lunch break in Yea Petes (WYKKED) Harley He was lucky, he could have joined the Harley club if he got bored with us as they were cruising for charity on the same roads as us. After leaving Yea, we went for a spirited drive on a mystery road heading for Ghin Ghin.... It was an awesome tight, twisty rd.... Time to give the Zeds are rest... Perfect time for the locals to come out and take some pics Once back on the rd, and heading towards Kinglake, we stopped at the Flying Tarts Bakery for some leg stretching and snacks. Sadly all good things have to come to an end, and after a solid day of socializing and driving, it was time to head back to the Watsonia Railway station and wrap up. We had a Zed photoshoot here, but I didnt take any photos!! Some of the other guys did, so hopefully they'll put them on here. Awesome day, looking forward to the next one .
Nah, I will keep my poor old 36 megapixel Nikon FF D800 70-200 f2.8, 14-24 F2.8 and 24-70 f2.8 pro lenses.
Off topic a tad but..... Nikon & pro lenses ...... one day you'll stop playing with girly toys One ting I've noticed over the years...... Vic members certainly kill all other states when it comes to photography Keep up the good clickin Congrats on a great run guys, rest easy Doug
Keep an eye open for the 2015 GOR cruise details shortly (aiming for late Feb or March). But that's for another thread.
Here are my pics of the day. We gathered at the Watsonia station Carpark. Setting off on the cruise. Was very impressive to see a string of Zeds leaving the car park We pulled up for a nibble and a natter. On the road again for some, well lets say a "Brisk trip" to kinglake We drew a bit of attention from the locals. A couple of slightly different cars in the mix Back on the road, and driving at a steady pace. Back to Watsonia Station Car Park via some very narrow roads. I was thinking "gees Kitty has a fat ass" while winding down the narrow road when around the corner comes a Ferrari. Didn't get a chance to see what model it was, just is was orange and wider than a 300zx. An absolutely great day with great friend and top cars. Missed you Dougie.:zlove:
