Bi-annual zedfest convoy 18th April (Friday) (Vic and Southern nsw)

Background:
Most other zedfest years, depending which direction. Most of us meet up to form small mini cruises and convoy towards the destination meeting up with people along the way, a good adrenaline pumping begin to the weekend away together and picture ops


Proposed routes


I am located in goulburn.
Myself
Lilbaz and presumably
Zedmd will be meeting in goulburn

All 3 viable routes take 7.5-8hrs travel time by map.
Add in the compulsory fuel stop, lunch and meet up issues. May as well say 8-9hrs regardless.

Route 1, prefured AT THIS STAGE
This travels north up the Coast line.
To Sydney.
Along the m7 onto the m2 then the pacific motorway
This cuts inland towards cessnock. Also cuts past Newcastle giving a member or 2 a good opportunity to meet up and jump on board? (Shineyzx cough)
From there we head straight on up inland to gunnedah.


Route 2
This again goes north to Sydney.
Uses the m7 and exits at the end before the m2
Goes through Windsor and we would get to go along the putty road again to singleton where it then heads north like route 1.

Route 3 (bush route)
Goes Sydney then goes bush, up through cudgegong then after that I'm switching to auto pilot as I've never gone further lol.

This has no date yet as I would need to see interest and work out with those wanting to convoy what works best for the majority.
Also holiday traffic may be a pain XD

Well...

Adds @80km and about an hour to our preferred route from Canberra (which would be all inland via Yass, Cowra, Dunedoo, and on to Gunnedah), but we're in, nonetheless...

The Sydney "crew" have kinda been a little slack on the zedfest commitment

Which route are you taking? Me and robbo are leaving from Melbourne on the Friday morning, you haven't got a date on this...

My thoughts...

Gonna take us @ 90mins to get to the meet in Goulburn, and @ 8?hrs to get to Gunnedah from there (incl. pick-ups, 98, and lunch), maybe 9hrs...

So... If we wanna be at our final destination by, say, 6pm, we'd wanna leave Goulburn as close to 9am as possible...

(Info below via Google maps, so forgive me if it's not 100% accurate )

Picton Road is another 75mins or so, so @ 10:15am'ish to hook up with ZedXTT...

From there its either 30mins to the start, or 45mins to the end, of the M7 to meet Aaron - 10:45am - 11:00am...

Next, it's @ 1hr 45mins to get to Cessnock to connect with shineyzx - @ 12:45pm...

Might as well stop in shineyzx's backyard for lunch and, particularly fuel, because I'll likely be running on fumes by then - leaving around 1:30pm or so...

After lunch, it should be smooth sailing for the @ 3?hr final run to the Mackellar, and our fellow Zedfest'ers... Arriving somewhere between 5&6pm...

Im fine with that, lunch at potters brewery or there is a nice cafe across the road if its kot open. And a shel servo about 500meters dowb the road

Mate, does the Shell have 98? And if not, is there another servo in Cessnock that does?

 

Hey Baz - once your off the M7 and are heading up Pennant Hills Rd theres plenty of servo's there with 98 few BP's as well. would be best to fill up there.
