Thanks to all who came along, great to see support from outside the Z Car Club Q. 27 participants in the end, bit less than promised but still a great turnout. As the organiser its probably not my place to say how good (or otherwise) it was, but everyone seemed happy enough. The weather threatened but was never a factor and in fact it was quite hot by the afternoon. The run down Springbrook Mountain was great, over Tomewin was a bit bumpy whilst Burringbar was its normal sublime (IMO). The road from Mooball to Bangalow had its rough spots but the twisty sections and light traffic made it enjoyable even if there was some "bottoming out". Sorry for the small number of people that got lost on this section. Still not 100% sure how they managed it. There was only like 5 intersections to navigate through, but I guess someones RIGHT can always be someone else's ..... LEFT????? The Bangalow Heritage Museum and Tea House did us proud with a great lunch on the verandah with plenty of parking close by. Others have promised to post up some pictures (I am no photographer and can't figure out how to do it anyway) Stay tuned for our next event. Lapz at Lakeside on May 17. Thanks again.
Rory, replace that bloody third brake light. That rear end will be better for it. Love the wheels Is this one of your zeds Michael?
yeah, the blue slicktop is mine. Should get a few photos and update my build thread one of these days. Unfortunately, I'm lazy Was a pretty good run, maybe except for Kris/Mr_G and I being the only ones that turned up a windy goat track for the last stretch to Bangalow. Was good to see some well maintained and modified 240/260z's on the run. Aus300zx representation was a little slim. Karl's "all show, zero reliability" unfortunately pulled out last minute (there's a new 300zx workshop in Brisbane he should drop by), and some guy in a vert had to get his nails done Apologies to whoever was driving the silver NA, I'm bloody hopeless with names.
Was indeed a great day - perfect weather, great variety of cars, nice people and some great roads. Though yes, I'm pretty sure I received a spine realignment from driving on Friday Hut Road. I'll have some pics up soon once I get them onto photobucket. Silver NA was Hayden (bris300). Luckily I'm a teacher and good with names (ie. I have a PM from him that I just checked).
Looks very tidy. You're going to have to send me some pics of all you zeds one day. Yeah baz had to get his nails done for his weekly golf date . I was in Gladstone, didn't get back till Sunday evening.
Link to the pics on dropbox and photobucket for those interested in higher quality pics. Some more pics from a brilliant day: 5:30am wash after spending the day before on interior and stereo. 7:15am meet - we decide to take some pics at the Jindalee DFO while waiting for the Highway Patrol around the corner to move along... RoryZ, Mr G, OZX_320 And we're off! Arrive at Nerang around 8:30am Go-go Gadget GoPro! Pre-departure discussion of the run. Some dodgy GoPro shots when we thought it was on video. Arrived at our first pitstop. Sneaky Mazda ring-in. The beautiful Bangalow Heritage Museum and Tea Rooms, which was reserved for us. Finished off with an absolutely brilliant lunch. That lamb, drool.....
Looks like a good day. Great arrangement of vehicles. And some excellent photos. Must say though.... [/img] Because race car.
Thanks Geoff! Make sure you let the others on the cruise know about the pics/links here and on the NDO Facebook page, owners and the ZCCQ feel free to take a copy for themselves.
