My 300zx z32 tt auto 1991 has a warning light coming on the instrument cluster it is on the bottom left about the 3rd from the left, oval shaped with wiggly lines above it. What is it called and what is the solution to stop it appearing. It has come on 3 times when Im accelerating.
Could be the cat over temp light. Caused by unburnt fuel entering in the cats. Could be your car is running too rich.
On your exhaust under the car about the centre console area are the cats. Wires run from a little box mounted under the centre console inside the car in braded cables to a sensor on each cat. The wires usually break or chaff and rub on the car body ( earth ) and this causes the warning light to come on or the sensor / sensors are dodgy. Just get under car and check the wires ( they are easy to find ) ot a lot of guys / girls just cut the cables and wrap tape or heat shrink the ends to stop them earthing out . Or if you are really unlucky they are telling you the car is massively over fuelling but I really doubt it will be that. Yer perhaps you should have searched for oval shaped with wiggly lines above it as ryzan posted  Happy Zedding Dave
yeah cat overheat sensor, mine did it when a coilpack connector came loose. Could be a failing/collapsed cat too.
It is the Cat temp sensor, I have the same light coming on, its pretty much telling you to stop accelerating so much, something about the " lean/rich fuel combustion " -quote from mate.
No sorry I don't. I may the Italian equivalent (joking) Scored the image off TTnet. Even the owners manuals don't cover it very well. Settle down guys, we are here to help each other, not to say "go search" If every new member here used search we would have no new interaction with them. Pretty much every conceivable problem has been covered on this forum, and I don't mind responding to things covered that I have dealt with or know about. All the other web sites are oh so quick to ram it down noobs throats telling them to "go seach" they don't feel welcome. This place is different. we don't do that. We help!
Yeah. I guessed that, but the other post was borderline (deleted) For the three of us that CAN'T read Japanese here is the English version. The warning lights are varied across the different models. eg manual or AT transmissions, AUS spec or JDM. The below image is also shows just the warning lights. We need information on what variants are out there. Please save the bottom image and add your information and post back here for us to learn.
Also note the later models don't have the bottom section "screens" either side of the steering column. I'll do one up tonight based on my cluster.
