headlight

    Hi all i have take the headlight out of the car, and clean them good.. now i clean the glue as well and i have no idea what kind glue i have to use... any idea guys???

    They are resealed with butylmastic, Don't use silicon or anything else like an adhesive.

    Yeah, like Tektrader says... but you don't need to clean it it is reusable.

    so now you need to find some more in grey colour.. try ebay.

    I'm not sure what was so confusing about the question. When the headlight's are opened up you can re-heat the adhesive (butylmastic) & reuse/seal.

    IMO clean all the old crap mastic off and start clean. Heat it up with a heat gun or hair dryer to separate the glass from the body and take it easy. Its way too easy to break the glass if you are ham fisted.

    You can buy Butyl mastic in a heap of colours from Bunnings. Grey is probably the best.

    You wont believe how much crap will be under the glass.

    Thanks, I will do this. I was going to pull mine apart and just reseal them with the old crap but considering the old sealant is already letting in dust at at least one point it should go.

    Why grey?
