300zx's are best tuned via road tunes. Lots of issues with dyno'ing the zeds. Prone to fail / blow up. Doesnt help they have side mount coolers and the dyno fan is a single fan facing the middle of the frontbar. Doesnt quite get the proper airflow compared to road tuning.

This is why our zed was always road tuned.

When I hosted a zed dyno day, 3 motors blew up. Mine was one of them. a silly t-piece hose came off and detonated and popped.

And why can't that happen on the road?

My Z is NA though... same issues? With a Z motor with 250k on the clock Im now a bit concerned about a Dyno Tune! I might just leave it I think! Ill wait until I rebuild the Engine....

lol, sorry, but that's a load of BS lol.

For a modified turbo car the best way is to create a base tune on a dyno, then if needed fine tune on the track. Doing a 'street' tune then putting it on the dyno and having it blow up due to vac hose coming off or any other reason and then blaming the dyno is ludicrous. IMHO of course ;)
