Got myself a S2 shifter gate that I'd like to install, concept from this thread HERE.

    Here's the part in question.

Had a chat with John from UAS and he suggested it wasn't a simple job. Anyone here installed one or have the knowledge on how to do it? Want to tackle the job sooner rather than later, would rather not go in blind.

    Cheers!

Enough of a job that I just bought a second hand series 2 box for $500:p

From my under standing opening the gearbox ,selector gate sits under the gears/shaft so basically have to pull everything out to get to.

Someone with more experience can shed some light though.

Ok is it just a matter of opening the box and changing it ?

Thought there was more in the way .

Your part number is not the same as the nissan exploded view of Frysie.
Is there a difference between the 2 parts, one an earlier one maybe?

I'm going to assume the ones frysie has put up is for the earlier model gearboxes

Nissan drawings use a part "code", when you select a date etc you get a part "number", the first half of the number is not always the same.

Its a big job, imagine the look on his face when he sees the 97 box has the same part as is being fitted.

The manual box I've got is from an '89, so it'll have the S1 shifter gate. Haven't gotten around to installing it yet, will let you know how I go.

Just a nicer shift, it looks like a very practical upgrade.
