Has anyone got another picture or has fitted this Auto Shifter Knob?

I can't see if it has a trigger type button set up (if any lock out button), plus whether it has the OD button on the side? Might be a question for Coz, I'm just curious if it hasn't got any lock out, what stops you from accidentally bumping it in reverse at 100km/h!

Any other Shifter Knobs out there you know of? I like this one as it has rather a standard stock appeal to it, leather and all. Much better than the Nissan standard one that's out of all there other models!

OMG it does too! Talk about skim reading! Lmao

Still, I can't seem to find a brand new leather/stitched shifter to replace mine (only the non-leather jobs), so I've been looking for an aftermarket replacement that isn't bling!

Someone is selling that Nav brand auto shifter.
You know it will fit and do the job.

The alternative would be to engineer a Honda Prelude shift handle or similar if you really prefer that knob style.

Oh your too quick mate! Nice one ;)

That Nav shifter is hideous!!!! I'm sorry.. It's like a space ship light speed shifter!

I'm after either stock leather shifter or an after market plain old leather slimmer design shifter. But seems there isn't much around so ill just get the oem leather shifter I guess, I'm surprised Coz isn't selling them

I agree the Navan shifter is a hideous mix of cheap plastic and leather creating a level of cheese that only that period could of produced.

The late model leather stitched one is not much better, it looks like arse IMO.

You dont have to modify or change to improve sometimes, just replacing the worn item is all that is required.

The standard one isnt uber but its not bad and in good condition presents better then the alternatives.

Not sure if I'm following... I already have the leather stitched shifter... It's the same as the rubber one but wrapped up... Only up until today manufacturers are putting nice slim shifters in their cars.

What's a later one then?? Atm mine is the leather wrap with the base ball stitching... I was under the impression that mine was the later type? The steering wheel and hand brake are in the same style

Huh? I thought 300zx OEM were all the same. Our choices being Nissan OEM closed fist shape or aftermarket fighter pilot joystick (or knobbed shape as what l assumed Cam was referring to) so I'll have to do some Googling now.

Thanks mate, yeah that's the one I have but it's just got some wear and tear on it which when you combine with some other things, it starts to show its age... I want to tidy these little things up to make a big difference. I'm working on interior now :)

Crappy picture but you get the idea.
I cut the shaft and mounted the knob straight onto the plastic top. You can mount the overdrive somewhere else and you push the shift knob down to change.

    Cam, how bad is it?
Just boot polish the scuff marks out :)
So far l have only seen one type of OEM shifter for auto.
Bracket shifter looks same as auspec series 1.
Cam you said yours is the same, so what is the slimmer OEM that you have referred to?
Oh you are going NON-oem, (nonoem)
if you let one mod in, it's the thin edge of the wedge
