Fantastic day for cruising. Loved every minute of it and a big thanks to Kingy for organising another awesome cruise. Big thanks for the 6 specialist photographers Kingy & Son, Col, Martin and Mark for getting ahead of the group so they could catch us as we went by for what I can expect to be spectacular action photography which I cant wait to see. Thanks for the great photos Martin I wanna thank everyone for all the positive comments and support about my Z on the day as well. Everyone was very impressed with my handwork and I really enjoyed answering everyones questions about my Z and the 2000spec models in general. Unfortunately I was the one at the front of the rear pack who was trying to keep up with the front group. I was behind the black BMW for most of the inland twisties and I was doing ok keeping up with him but when I lost ABZ in myt rear view mirror I couldnt just keep going so I slowed down for him and next thing I know the BMW was gone. No sign of it and even dean's Z who was infront of him. So not knowing where we were surpose to be going I just headed straight and hoped the front group would wait for us to catch up to them but alas it never happened and when we got to the a Colac Geelong turn off I wasn't going to just guess where to go, so I pulled over and ask ABZ what do you think and we agreed to go Left and we headed for Geelong. Really sorry guys if I made the mistake that cost us the rest of the cruise. I almost fell asleep on the way back to geelong actually so not a great finish to the cruise sorry guys. Ill need to upload my photos when I get a chance, will post once they are ready. Hope to see everyone again soon.:zlove:
Will do Col, have to start uploading everything Ive done first so dont know how long but it will get up there asap. Thanks for the great photos too already saved all the ones you got of my Z:zlove: cheers
thanks to everyone involved in all the bits that did go right and to the camera guys fantastic job thank you so much, 1st run and wont be the last !!nice to put faces and cars to names
A big thanks for all the efforts put in, I had a great day. Didn't end up getting the camera out in the end but some fantastic shots already, was really impressed with the idea of getting a few of the good photog's positioned along the road for some action shots. Huge thanks to the guys that did, photos so far are looking great. Was thinking it was a fairly relaxed run on the way back but I honestly still thoroughly enjoyed it & it was an infinity better option than staying home & mowing the lawn! cheers, Tim
awesome cruise, thanks to all those who organised the drive and took the photographs  I think that was probably the best GOR i've been on, first time in the TT and it really made me think twice about making the car track only, i would miss driving on roads like that too much. Sorry to all those that got lost, I believe the group got split up twice because we only ended up with about 6 cars behind BADZX by the end of the day. There was a round-about on the GOR that we took a left turn at and went inland again on the way home. I think probably the only thing we can do to improve GOR next year is have some sort of route on paper for people to follow (but given that the route is usually decided the day before that might be difficult), or maybe have more people spread out through the group who actually know where we're going. We were behind BADZX for most of the run but if he wasn't there then I would have been lost.
Big Thanks to Kingy & Col... Ditto Sandeep and others... another great GOR run. Considering Kingy had no Internet for maps and the like (past runs have had printouts of Route) it gets pretty hard to Instigate an event for such a large amount of cars when you can't even hook up to the net to research etc... (Gee Telstra, maybe 1 exchange for such a huge region isn't enough... derrrr what happens if it gets burnt down... derrr) So bloody well done mate!! And a big thanks to the camera crew for your sacrifice in getting those excellent pics... I'm sure all who now have high quality shots of their car in action are grateful. Can't wait till the next cruise :zlove: :zlove: :zlove:
Yeah, but unfortunately I didn't have the shutter slow enough on the moving pics to be able to create a bit of blur. Out of practice!
had a great day , it was good to see some new faces and some of the old boys . either way the run was good , we still need to get people to stay closer to the car thats in front of you , many times i slow down , and i was waiting for people to catch up . when we leave to servo everyone was taking there time to get into there cars . there were zed spread out so bad , that you just cant keep an eye out for everyone the closer we are together most time the easier it is to stay together throughout the drive , some people got left behind due to buses and whatnot but most of the time people were just taking there time and were left behind, the people in front cant see whats going on behind them . a suggestion would be , for us to have UHF radios like some of the other forums, and as we did years ago , there about say 100$ thats all we need for better communication its a good investment for these drives we go on ..
And don't forget our little cruise home on the highway :zlove: P.s did you see that stupid excel with a rocket exhaust and a massive gt wing? He kept slowing down next to me trying to be one of us bahaha it was like an Annoying fly! But he decided to run off with the silvia crew
Agreed, Easiest way to do a group buy would to be to go through jaycar, although they might not be the best for what we want.
The only problem with this is that the range on these devices is very poor on the GOR environment. It worked extremely poorly when we tried it years ago I (although we were using low 0.5 watt devices), and in those days we didn't even go inland through the tree filled environment. Absolutely it might help, but still the simplest method is to perhaps be a bit more clear at each of the stops as to where the next stop is and to drive as hard as you can while keeping the car behind you in your rear vision mirror.
My Pics As already stated. what an awesome day. I took a ton of pics, but no point reposting photos that have already been posted by others. Hope you enjoy the pics! Whos this mug?? Oh thats right, BADXTC Hey BigCol!! BigCol trying to rally the troops... For the new guys on the forum, you can thank the guy with the glasses for this forum. Say hello to Ben (Blipman) who started the forum way back in 2000, when it looked a hell of a lot different to what it does now Such a pity he sold his 2 black Zeds... Ben thoroughly impressed with Adams effort to make a 2000 spec zed The reason why we're all washing our cars the day before, and then getting up early the day after... We invade Apollo Bay... Who's exhaust is this? The owner is not allowed to answer as he caught me taking the photo! Bond....... James Bond...... well, a black Bond anyway.... Im not being racist!! At the light house, waiting for instructions... Did the Jedi mobile pass inspection?? Who knows... I tried taking some action shots by panning the camera with a low shutter speed, but just couldn't quite get the car 100% focused. Need more practice. Damn it!! Now we have to wait for another year till the next one....
Great shots and makes me want to do it now !! Who knows... i might even trailer mine down next year for it
FIrst.. big thanks to everyone.. it is a great day and great fun.. this has been one of my favorites from the previous years.. maybe the time i had my zx airborn.. that was fun but great fotos... well worth the change.. we got lost at the end too.. but it was getting later.. and im burnt as anything.. so i went home.. there has to be a better way to keep track of each other.. with gps and internet what it is now days..
