For sale one rebuilt manual gearbox (series one) with receipts. Selling as I have my driveline apart and am taking the chance to do some upgrades.

    Location: Sydney (North)
    Condition: Used (rebuilt)
    Price: $1000obo

Includes a couple of extras such as shifter mount, pivot ball and forks (clutch fork and withdrawl lever fork) so may suit someone doing MT conversion. Will also include UAS "super light" chrome molly flywheel (4.8kg) in need of machining.

It'd be a while -dont have the receipt on me but maybe 8 years? Car has done bugger all k's since then though due to undergoing extensive rebuild. Ill try and find some paperwork to confirm but I'd be surprised if there are 15000kms on the gearbox since rebuild.

Feels strong. Rebuild was done due to losing the synchros 3rd-4th. Buyer will be happy :)

Just a little more on condition

It's a used gearbox with seals, synchros and bearings replaced roughly 15k ago and has run only redline synthetic fluid since rebuild.

It's not a new box though -they a cost a little over twice what I'm asking :p

My driveline is coming apart to replace clutch and flywheel so if I can sell the gearbox i will take the opportunity to fit a brand new one. Associated bits (forks, shift mount and pivot ball) are in perfect condition but are being replaced regardless because I'm anal like that so throwing them in with the box if it sells.

So condition is good and would suit someone in the good cond. second hand market.

Not in a road car -just going new series 4 box (if this one sells) for now. If I do upgrade the gearset if would be with a PPG helical cut gearset.

Tempted. What do you think it would cost in labour to have a workshop remove and replace a gearbox?

Not sure -maybe four hours? You'd probably want to do rear main seal, output shaft seal abd throw out bearing while you're there.

Get it Jamie , mine cost $1200 to rebuild which doesnt include purchase of used gearbox .

This price is a STEEEEEEL !! If I had the spare cash I would get it for my other car .

Found the receipt. Rebuild done in 2005, cost of $2200 for new synchros, bearings and seals. Has done roughly 15000kms since.

I would have jumped at this but just spent $3K on wheels and tyres so unfortunately the coffers are empty for a few more months.
