Rear passenger brake staying on slighty

    I changed my rear left axle today in my NA, after snapping it the other day, got it all back together, was spinning nice and freely, once i started testing everything was working alright the rear left brake locked up whilst up on stands.
    Got it free but the brake seem's to be staying on, get a noise from the rear left like scraping, and rear left rotor getting twice as hot as rear right.

    I Have not had much time to check it out as I ran out of light, Does it simply need a bleed?

    Handbrake or normal brake? Calliper may need a rebuild. Generally bleeding will not fix this sort of problem.

    I couldnt quite tell chrispy, all I know is that the rotor gets hotter then the others, and that wheel is harder to turn.

    I'm by no means experienced in this, but could you remove the caliper from the hub/rotor and see if you press the pistons back in? Or alternatively put wheel on without caliper and turn to rule out or confirm if it's the handbrake

    +1. I agree that this may well be the Handbrake Shoes being out of adjustment(or slightly dragging on the brake drum, due to having been disturbed during the assembly/disassembly process). Sometimes(if the adjustment is NOT backed-off during disassembly)those shoes can get out of position and then become a real pain when putting the disc/drum back into place.

    Adjusted the hand brake shoes.

    Same story.

    I am beginning to think it might be because I got a fair bit of wd40 on the rotor when I was spraying around the wheel well to clean some things up. Seems to be collecting junk on the pad

    Any one else experienced anything similar when getting a fair amount of wd40 on a brake disc?

    Build upon the pad should make it grip less, not more. Although the fact it's building up sounds like the caliper pistons aren't returning all the way...

    Might have to pull them off and have a look. What's the pedal feel like?

    Pedal does not feel too bad actually.

    Just a grinding noise. I have belted out the rear brake shield. adjusted the brake shoes to be a little looser then it should. and still getting the noise. showed my friend who used to be a top mech at bell garage too. he's not sure either without pulling it off. he said it dost sound like wheel bearing. which i guess is good. but yeah. just annoying since i don't have much time to. pull it all back apart at the moment

    Grinding sounds almost certainly like a wheel bearing, and if it's enough to cause heating up and a difficult to turn wheel I'd say its totally shagged. Would get that checked asap as it could end very badly otherwise.
