What is better. To use your BOV's as full recircs or full atmo?

My ones release to atmosphere when I get off the gas pedal. My mate is telling me to recirc it as it will make better performance but no noise etc...

    Please explain zedders :zlove::confused:

there's no proven performance difference, it's just wank factor. do whatever you like.

with atmo's you'll run rich very very briefly when they vent but this has no impact.

IMO with a AFM car (like the zed), a recirc is the best option. For a MAP engine, either is fine.

Best option equaling to power/ performance gains?

If so how much do you think?

No power difference or performance gain, just makes the engine stall with an atmo BOV on a AFM motor.

A BOV is a protection device for the turbo.

    i don't want to start a shit fight , but pay attention , to 235 sec. to 335 sec . in that vid . ( that's all i needed to look at . ) ( contradiction much )

it does make a difference. have tested this out as well, on my zed .. plumb back for the win , all day . with our cars .

    best answer is run neither...
one of our new trucks just clicked over 1million k's... runs just under 40lbs and no leaker valve

    turbo's still good ;)

Full atmo's can cause the engine to stall if you pull up quickly, I'll be getting rid of my atmo's when the car is going again.

A truck that has clocked up 1 million K's is NOT a NEW truck.:p:rolleyes:
    A Z32 is also NOT A TRUCK(or a diesel engined vehicle).:br:

Would it still stall if you tighten them up a lot?

Also is there any issues with tightening them up too much and how much is too much?

When it dumps the metered air out of the system engine runs rich and stumbles for a second. Sometimes its just enough to stall the engine quite annoying.

Wouldnt adjusting the pressure fix that ? Prob only be able to adjust aftermarket ones .

    The way I see it...

    Recirc > Atmo.

    Why you ask?

Instead of releasing all that potential air your motor could be getting and having to "suck" it back in for the next gear, your motor already has it. Everyone adds bolt on mods and all that crap to make their zed quicker. Atmo blow offs seem like a step backwards to me.

    N/A drivers represent.

    Two things

    1. Atmo BOVs are illegal
    2. MAF engine management needs a closed system

    The rest is personal taste...

Adjusting the pressure? The adjustment screw on the blow off valve adjusts the preload on the bov diaphragm, you adjust is so that it doesn't leak when in vacuum.

Doesn't help the running rich issue.

For example it occurs (stalls) when you boost in first gear and then have to brake hard to stop with clutch in. Which is a lot of the time if you do things like motorkhana's.
