My wheels have been losing their clear coat for some time ...

so I decided to do something about it.
Armed with various grades of wet-n-dry paper I began to remove the clear coat.
I started with 80, which quickly removes the coat, but is really too coarse - scratches in the alloy were obvious.
Moved to 400, then 1200 and finished with 2000.
Washed, cleaned with Prepsol then sprayed with VHT Clear wheel paint (urethane with a 250 deg F rating).
    Finished wheel ...

Well done Dougy. :D You realise most of the Members on here now would simply go buy new wheels?

Moving to NT as it's a cosmetic upgrade.

Fair enough about the relocation (initially thought you were moving to Darwin, or somesuch.)
Note: 4 sheets of paper and a spray can is much cheaper than 4x new wheels:br:

Yes but... it's hard work, you get sweaty and dusty!

So much easier to put new wheels on credit .... and think of the BLING factor! :zlove:
