Can someone reccomend a good quality rear muffler? I'm after something oval - 2.5" inlet to replace the cannons on my car.... Don't want anything too loud as I often do fairly long distances (heading down to do the great ocean road later in the year ) Been looking at something like the XForce 6"X10" Oval: MP02 Any suggestions on sellers/products? Cheers
I was in the exact same boat as you a few weeks ago - replacing loud cannons with 2.5" oval mufflers. If you're not making big power ie over 300RWKW, then those X force MP02's will be fine - I've been told that they don't last too long with high powered cars as the seams open up inside. I you've got the money - look up the VAREX systems or if you want the absolute best mufflers with the least noise, you can't beat REMUS.
Have been doing some more research - looks like Hitech mufflers may be a good option? http://hitechmufflers.com.au/ Does anyone know if the 11"x6" oval would fit or would I need to go down to the 8.5"x5.5"? Anyone got any experience with Hitech? Did think about Magnaflows - but I'm after something with a bit bigger body..... Nice but not nice enough at $1400+ lol
They are the ones that I've got - I scored them pretty cheap of another member (BLACKBEAST) - top quality, highly recommended
You don't know what size they are do you? They have heaps of sizes to pick from when you order...... Cheers
I'm not sure of the style or name of the ones that I've got, I'm pretty sure they were custom order - best ask BLACKBEAST or have a chat to Hi-tech over the phone. They are 5 x 9" - but packed in twice as tight as the X-force's - I know this because the guy who installed my mufflers had an x force muffler cut open & it was pretty loosely packed inside. Slightly smaller body with extra tight packing is gonna be quieter than larger body with not so tight packing inside. I also heard the Magnaflows are packed in a similar fashion to the x forces, but much higher quality everywhere else.
