Just ordered Nistune - along with the licence, and need to get a wideband. What brands do you reccomend that work well with nistune for datalogging etc?

Also for knock sensing - what should I be looking for? Is an aftermarket sensor/microphone worth buying?

AEM UEGO works well. Interfaces fine with Windows and Nistune. Pretty cheap too.

Innovative has had issues interfacing with Nistune for some people, seems to be a bit fiddly to get it to work. I know of a few people ditching the LC1 for the AEM as it was too hard.

AEM has narrowband output too IIRC.

Correct. It is bit bitchy to setup and lots of wiring. But since I have updated the firmware for both XD-16 and LC-1 it is working like a charm.
XD-16 has been discontinued and new one came out similar to AEM.

    I use PLX and bosch.

Although I've never bothered trying to connect to Nistune, although it can be done.

I use two just to check what is going on in other dump. Haltech uses only one wideband input.

And the consensus for nistune tuning is that the narrow band O2's work only in open loop during warm-up, followed by map tuning later in the closed loop.

I've got the AEM unit, still not installed (waiting for some exhaust stuff to be done). I'll be installing this in the passenger side pipe, as this is the one that is most likely to get a raw deal if things go wrong. Nistune similarly uses only one input, for logging only though AFAIK.

Pic you have shown is the Innovate MTX-L with built in controller. Easy to install and calibrate. Comes with LogWorks3. Have yet to work it together with Nistune, so can't comment on how easy to use.

I use a TechEdge 2J1. Works well with nistune including logging. No ricer display, but can be interfaced to a gauge if desired.

Thanks guys - gives me a few places to start looking.... I'm not 100% sure I want the gauge as well, although at this stage a 60mm gauge replacing the stock temp gauge is an option.....

Any comments re Knock sensors? Or does everyone tune to 'audible knock' and then back it off a couple of degrees?

I'm no tuning expert - but keen to learn (slowly!) and don't want to go killing my motor in the process.... I'm working my way through the Nistune guides now..... :zlove:

Thats a horrible way to tune an engine. You adjust timing until no torque increase is achieved (unless the engine is knock limited). This is hard to do without a dyno.
About knock devices, there are threads on this forum covering this.
