I have in my possession a set of kaminari styled side skirts that I had planned to make copies of. For those that have looked for them locally carmate make a set for the 2+2 but not the 2+0. I will be able to produce these cheaper than the genuine its from the states and shipping will be heaps cheaper too. Would any of the 2 seat owners be interested in these?
I would also definitely buy a set... provided that they would come with the door fillers. Would you be able to get those made up too?
I'd be interested in some kaminari style 2+0 skirts at some stage as long as they come with the door fillers... I've decided I like them more than the bomex copies I already bought haha
I already have a mold for the infills so that isnt an issue. I am also in the process of making some slimline infills that don't sit out as much as the kaminari style and have better clearance around the front edge of the door. These will also be available.
Why dont you FIX the kaminari skirts while you are doing this. So they dont stick out like dogs balls from the side of the car. WTF they where thinking putting a 15mm ledge along the whole side of the car I cant comprehend. Then the design would be yours and you could sell em without feeling like you ripped Kaminari off.
That is essentially what im doing. Ill start another thread about it tomorrow as I have a hand full of pics. My slimline ones are just a neater fitting version. I tried trimming down the kaminari copies I made but the cutout at the front of the door is just to big to be trimmed back without shortening the infill by 20mm.
With your skills it wouldnt be too hard to fix the kaminari issues. Until then for me they come under the "good from afar, but far from good" catagory as far as body kits go. Out of the box the fit is shitful and while they look quite good from the side. Looking down on them from above they really look CRAP.

No, you better have a close look at a car fitted with stock kaminari skirts. If Ztoy can fix them so they are not anywhere near as thick looking, they will be 100% better That ledge running along the top is about 15mm wide. Its horrible.

Obviously it will come out a bit as with no side skirts the skirt area is flush with the door, rear 1/4 and fender so putting on a skirt will protrude. You wouldn't want a skirt made to thin though as theres a reason why they put stone guard in that area...
