hey guys pretty sure its technical that i'm askin for eeerrrrmmm was just wondering what aftermarket mod's i can install that won't comprimise anything when i go to tt it later. so far i've been told about throttle body's, stroker kits, ecu and a port and polish. what are the best mods and can i get a rough price range for them? cheers guys
Do a search mate. Has been covered MANY times with mod lists and power increases etc etc. My 2c is leave it stock and save your money. Do the exhaust and suspension mods because later when you tt it that can be used. Other than that you are getting very small gain for the amount of money you will spend. Instead fix up the cosmetics of your car, retrim the interior or respray the car etc. Leave the engine till you TT as thats the best bang for buck mod you can do.
sure mate it's not too hard, just follow this guide: 1. Fluffy Pink Dice. (not white, pink) 2. Adequate lighting. 3. Spoiler taller than your roofline. (wood is optional, it looks great but it isn't very aerodynamic) 4. Solid Wheels. Mags optional, hubcaps will do if you don't have the funds. The more you cover up your brakes the more aerodynamic your car is. Pretty logical right? That should set you up for the drags. Would you like a guide for drift too?
Focus on restricting intake flow and reducing exhaust restriction (up to a point where it becomesa de-modification with an NA) Stroker kits are hugely expensive (well beyond a cost of a decent condition TT) Throttle bodies will not show any improvement until the rest of the intake and exhaust is modified suitably. Port and polish is just whimsical for a stock engine. Get a look down the runners of a set of heads and you will see the minimal gains to be had using stock parts. With big cams and a few turbos, you will be making more power though. In short, if you want to make cheap power with an NA, forget it unless you have a big wallet. Otherwise just buy a TT like I did. :sorry:
Mods to an NA that improve performance are many and varied but the most popular seem to be, headers, pod filter, lightweight underdrive pulley, tuned ecu, etc. However I would suggest save your money and bide your time till you can sell the NA and buy a good TT. NA's have enough power for the average P-plater to handle. Spend your time and money instead on making sure the NA is in top condition so you get the best price when it comes time to sell.
2nd Adams reply, keep the engine stock, any mod is money lost since you will TT in the end. If your zed is in great condition and think its worth doing an engine swap then spend the cash on looks, an exhaust and suspension. If the zed is only in average condition. Keep your current zed stock then once your off your Ps, sell the NA and buy a TT. This is easily the most cost effective solution. But I understand the conversion route as people get attached to their cars.
if i were you.. personally.. i would mod it cosmeticly like mentioned above.. do suspention and exhaust.. than when your on your p's pull that NA motor out and drop the TT in.. if you really want to do mods.. buy a secondhand TT engine.. and start modding it.. once you get you fulls... drop it in and... happy boosting.
Exhaust, lightweight flywheel, 1-piece driveshaft, adjustable suspension bits... Then when the time comes drop some turbos on your VG30DE or do a VG30DETT swap. This way you will have the awesome taller NA diff and no HICAS to remove
i was in the same boat i was going to do all sorts of performance mods to my NA Z, then i decided its a total waste of time. Decided to just save and buy a nice and tidy TT in a year and a bit, you will enjoy it alot more than an NA with a small increase of power
As a p plater.. x2 NA Z's are good enough to learn on for us young guys... If you want to do a TT swap latter on down the track(way more $ then selling an NA for a factory TT). Suspension components are probably the best thing to upgrade...
I purchaed my 94 N/A with 83k genuine on the clock and stock all the way. Only mods i have done is convert to thermofans - slight increase in power Dual airpods - small increas in induction sound Got some nice rims, front are 235 17", back are 255 17" The more stock and clean a N/A is turns more heads than a bogan'd n/a so i have noticed. also worth more for resale in good original looked after condition.
lol, this thread is awesome. want more power? 1. polish your left door. 2. take off drivers side targa (weight reduction). 3. unbolt one nut off your cat. 4. use two feet on the gas pedal. 5. replace your rear wiper blade. if that doesnt work, im all out bud. best sell and get a swift.
hahaha, thats it, the perfect performance mods, oh but you forgot, if u dont display the p-plate the car can go faster 2
