My Z looks like an 80's sports car (apparently)

It's the wheels.

If you have the wrong wheels they do make the car look dated, hell a lot of wheels people put on are worse than stock and make the car look 1984 rather than ~2000 with the stock wheels.

If the woman was standing at the back of the car then yes I'm sorry the back does look VERY 1980s unless you have the later tail lights.

Did you ask what the hell she was doing out of the kitchen & who on gods earth gave her shoes to wear?? Be sure to grab your self some ear plugs, a deck chair & a beer before asking her that :rofl:

Both are good points. An original TT front bar looks dated as well. I'll join the chant and say most people love my car as well (and if they didn't at first, a good run with the t-tops off will change their minds). But the car is for me, no-one else.

In 10yrs time I might be frowned upon because everyone is going electric, and fuel will cost $5 a liter, but it will be worth it.

Those wheels were never right for the car and I should have never rushed into buying them. Got pressured to buy them in the first week or two that I owned it. Good news is that I have some much better wheels off a falcon to try on it next time I'm home. Hopefully they fit and the tyres are much better too.

So will post some pics up when I try them on. Want to use them on the 30th at the drags. Only prob is they are 19's and I am not really keen on such a big wheel on the little 2 seater. It might not look to good.

As for the crazy wench. I wanted to tell my mate not to marry her. But when someone is whipped it's pretty hard to tell them not to, or advise them against marrying someone like that.

i had my low km zed sitting in my shed, mate came to check out my rx7. he had some chick with her, she thought my zed was a new car i did have the car all polished up and all nice and clean, she found it hard to beleve it was a 91 build?

She is probably still pissed off from having bought a Colt(can't figure out how cowboys killed each other with them, because hers hasn't even got a trigger).

 

The other thing that dates the zed, is the orange indicators, not just the side ones, but rear ones and in the front bar, you can see that it is 80s in stock form, but a few little things and a detail, will bring the car 10 years forward

Sounds like she's a bit stuck up...when I was buying my first car I was looking at all the newer model cars eg. lancer, excel and even the colt! Needless to say, I'm glad I bought my zed over those newer model cars..people like her don't care about cars, it's just a thing to drive that needs upgrading every 3 years ..

Baz I really have been meaning to get those changed for years. Every time someone puts them up for sale they are snatched up. I'll just have to buy new I guess.

Ren she is rude. This mate of mine and I used to hang out after work and grab coffee, now she has to come along and rolls her eyes whenever we talk cars (he does up old chargers). The whole point of our coffee meet was to talk cars. SHE is straight from a horror movie lol

 

New car every three years because the engine oil needs changing and the tyre pressures are getting low. Or, in ignorant girl talk, " My car smells funny when its running and that wheel, the one you turn, is getting hard to move. Rough to ride in too, these old cars are sooooo.........old".

 

my partner was just like this when we got together but now she has except that i will always own the zed and now she is even getting involved in the z events and is helping get the old girl on the road considering she wont even get in it it scares her

Yeah I couldn't argue that she got the date right on a technicality. But it was the way she said it and that it was ugly. I was disappointed mainly because I hardly know her and that she also drives a colt. Now that is an ugly car. So many better small hatch backs out there. Anyway. Rant over now
