    Hi guys,

Just wondering, being a newb, what is a strut brace for?

Where does it go on the car, if there is one of the front and one for the rear, and does the 300zx benefit from one? :)

Strut brace joins the tops of the strut towers.

One at the front and one at the back

300zx benefits heaps from a front one, i didnt get as much benefit from the rear one, but different people have different stories on this. Mine was with stock suspension.

It made the steering much more direct, and the car felt more stable.

The strength of the brace plays a huge part in the benefit it gives, so get a reasonable one, the UAS ones generally work a treat, a lot of people also go for the carbing style ones.

Sits in the engine bay and joins the two strut towers together to prevent flexing of the chassis under cornering loads.
The rear fits in the boot area, different boot trims need modifying for 2 and 4 seaters.

I had a 2 seater slicktop and noticed no difference with a strut brace. This may be different with the targa top, which allows for more chassis flex.

Make sure if you buy one, that it is solid, and adjustable. Some fixed length items will not fit if your car has had an accident or has flexed over time.

I had clearance issues with the UAS one, between the bonnet and the strut brace- others have not had issues. The UAS one does look damn good though.

The carbing one is good, but needs the removal of the throttle linkage covers to fit between the runners of the plenum.

Well Emile, at least you're realistic.:p:D
My grey/white hair helps, they all think I'm in my second childhood(and the prospect of me becoming incontinent in the back seat of a squad car has them so rattled, they haven't even thought about my senile rambling).

BTW, I also don't chirp the tyres every time I change gear, that may have an effect.;):br:

    my rear one, noticeable difference

wouldn't do it in a 2+2 unless there was some form of "quick release" sort, goes straight across your storage space once you flatten the seats
