Heres an odd question. I see this setup quite often, where the Pod Filter is hooked up straight to the Turbo... but I see no MAF. Now just cause I can't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't have one at all right? I mean the ECU has to be able to meter the air coming in at some point, and if that is the case, why can't a slightly similar setup be used for our Zeds to eliminate some of the intake piping?

On topic though, that is one heck of a sexy Zed, ruined it a little for me without a VG but damn I have to give credit where its due...

Really nice work and love your dress up bolts. Is it possible to just buy the ones that sit under the bonnet that hold the side panels on, the blue ones in your pictures?

Of course! Shoot me a pm with a list of what you would like.

Thanks for all the comments guys! I know that car/engine doesn't sit well with purists and I understand that. Just realize it was removed to draw attention, not because it wasn't a good engine.

Here's a thought: Do you reckon someone could get a XR6/Typhoon R6 engine to work in a Z? They're supposed to be tough as nails, and should be pretty cheap out of a wrecked BA.

This would be a crime against the Z! Don't u dare!

No to mention, I have read a few ford forums with the XR6 engines blowing up with additional boost.

Valve springs giving up apparently... Tough as nails? :p

    Taken from Autospeed:

Other small problems to watch out for include a noisy power steering pump, a creaking or clicking steering rack, ineffectual or dragging handbrake and a crunch when engaging top gear in the T5 manual gearbox. There has been a lot of talk on the valve springs employed in the XR6 Turbo and, while there have certainly been related problems at increased outputs, you?re almost guaranteed hassle-free operation if you leave the engine standard.

    Don't use a BA engine

Get a BF or later as they use they Typhoon bottom end. If you go much above 300rwkw on BA bottom end you will kick rods out of bed and the valves will be blown open with the extra boost.

    DON'T ASK HOW I KNOW :D
