So im building a drift car out of my 1989 Nissan cima with the VG30DET... the car is striped with just a dash, seats and roll cage... any ideas? or parts for sale would love to hear from you! Engine: VG30-DET Bored and honed .20 over block deacked and cleaned crank has been balanced, Forged CP Pistons .20thou Eagal H-Beam con-rods King Bearings ARP mains kit ARP head stud kit Metal head gaskets gates racing timeing belt, Heads have been checked and decked mildly ported, and manifold matched. stage 2 JWT cams... valve springs???? not to sure modded oil pump custom extractors to sit turbo up front and flow more T72 TURBO 60mm external wastegate, RSR 3.5'' system from japan, no mufflers. custom 4'' dump pipe. i still want to make up a custom plenum with a singal 4'' throtle body and fuel rails injecters... any ideas on a ecu to run this? also after a pully kit....?????????? im hopeing to make over 300rwkw :br:
Lol i know this, i have jic coilovers, camber tops, huge rear swaybar, top arms. 18x10'' with 265 semis was more interested in engine tech.... i dont need the power but i want it. good for dyno days and off street drags
semi slick 265 on 10" is not good for drifting man... its like the oposite of good for drifting... its like bad for drifting
im telling you with any kind of power for drifting you run a set of good semi slicks, all my mates drift on semis, look at any good drift car, all the top guys run semis also. google it and stop posting now man i want engine tech
if the vg30det is anything like the dett you'll easily make over 300rwkw with a t72, but being a big turbo it's gonna be laggy, sure ya want something that big? even with 3.1ltrs i would've thought a single 3540 would be suited pretty well to 3.1 and still make good power, keep lag low and just run higher boost
man, im the naming sponsor of the wa drift season and run hot lap rides in drift cars as well as in the process of building 3 new cars... NO ONE runs 265 semi slicks on the back, 235/45/17 595 is the weapon of choice for most drifters over here... no point burning up semi slicks when a cheaper tyre will do, PLUS the idea is to lose traction not use a semi to add traction. But I agree with mafi you want the low end torque and instant power.
GT35R with a .82 back housing is the turbo for you, plenty of mid range without sacrificing the top end. For valve springs use the ones JWT recommend.
Hey yea i know the turbo is not realy great but it will do for a start... i have been looking into a 35r..... do you have any det parts for sale? also who made your intake plenum? and what fuel rails you use? thanks heaps.
The plenum is my design that I got made up, same with the fuel rails. My DET motor is being replaced by an old school VG33ET so some of the stuff may be for sale but that won't happen for a few months yet. I do have a side entry plenum for sale now but it needs some work on the entry to improve air distribution, it was cramped for space with the low bonnet on the 280ZX so the entry was not the best.
I use z32 tt ecu. You need to repin some wires and thats all. This ecu is open and can push you reliable over 300rwkw
Eh????????? Microtech, Haltech, Motec, Link, Go-Tech, Autronic, Adaptronic, Wolf and EMS come to mind before I start thinking any harder. I made my own loom which includes CAS, injectors, VVT, EGO, EGT, 6 channel ignition, 6 wire idle stepper mortor, traction control sensors x 2 as well as AC request, Power steer request, thermo fan control and a couple of other electrical load digital inputs, power supplies and relays to run an Adaptronic 420C ECU which is configured for full time adaptive/closed loop fuelling and idle control. Took me a weekend to commission it from scratch with EVERY joint soldered and heat-shrinked including the waterproof multi-pin plugs I paid a shiteloade for! Pay your money and take your very wide choice dude. L8r E
