hey all i just got these nice new rims and once i get them i wanna fit them straight away and lower the car, what suspension would use recomend, this is a weekend car and not really for track so not looking for coilover, i wanna go legal or a bit under, need shocks/springs new or near new. dunno what brand to go for or where to get them also what should i get, front rear, camber arms, Front castor/tension rods, rear traction rods? i understand JAPTEK.COM.AU is selling this but i dunno what ill need for a safe ride and good tyre wear, cheers
Aw man you got yours already!!! I'm so jeal haha, mine just got released from int'l shipping clearance so hopefully getting them tomorrow I reckon just get some Tein SS or something like that so you can adjust your height. I've got Eibach on KYB AGX atm that sits at exactly 100mm (legal) and IMO there's too much wheel gap... You need front and rear upper control arms at least, toe rods help camber wear, but I think it's advisable to get all adjustables. I e-mailed JAPTEK few days ago but I think he's still on holiday. You can get 2k spec tails from Coz, Dave from Drift Spec is doing a big group buy from Coz soon if you wanna wait and save a bit on shipping.
What are control arms? And toe rods? My 19x10's are coming in early december so I really need to learn this stuff... camber, coilovers and guard rolling I get. I need a diagram of an adjustable suspension set up with everything labelled
Upper control arms (FUCAs/RUCAs, front/rear camber arms) control the camber of the wheels on a double unequal length wishbone suspension like the ones on our Zeds. Toe rods adjust the toe in/out of the rear wheels (toe = wheel angle inwards or outwards). Tension rods (castor rods) adjust front castor which affects turn in... and that's as much as I know
Legal is 100mm from the ground to your lowest point when FULLY LOADED (ie. if it's a 2+2, 100mm with all 4 seats filled). Made mine closer to 160mm just to be sure.
Legal is 100mm from the ground with you in the driver's seat and the pit inspector checking the height under your car
what are the chances of you replying to my pm's after you tell me you're buying something of mine and I send you my bank details?
ichizora i walked in the door today to see my rims thank u again for setting the GB up also were can i source some springs and shocks?
Tein S-Tech Tein H-Tech Tanabe GF210 - haven't heard much about these on zeds... And the very popular and highly regarded... Eibach Pro-kit Shocks just like the recent GB KYB Excel-G a.k.a. GR2 KYB AGX a popular adjustable choice. too many others to list. but these are the best on a budget.
Im going the eibachs with the KYB excel-g's, seems to be good bang for buck and as im not tracking it dont really need the adjustments. Keep in mind though the eibach springs are only 0.8 inch drop so not super low.. The Tein S-tech will give a bigger drop of around 1.5"... Would love coilovers but just can't justify the cost atm
Double qoute and thnked! helpful as ima get adjustables and cant decide on springs as im not sure on height yet
deciding what springs to get... i wanna have it legal or just below legal, with the KYG AGX shock struts i can adjust height yes? so springs dont matter to much?
