i know this is probobly a noob question but what exactly does the brake baffle plate do and can it be removed ? thanks
The one between the pad and the piston? Reduces squeal, you can remove it, but your brakes will likely be squeaky.
It's a stone guard air guide thing. I'd leave it there. If you are putting on bigger rotors then snip and bend it to get more clearance.
read an article on the internet about using that baffle plate as a brake cooler by cutting a hole into it and running a length of flex from there to one of the front bumper vents. DIY. im pretty sure that plate must stay there for roadworthy. h
Pretty much, I just bent it out of the way. You could even bend it to redirect air to the rotor surface. Regardless, looks like mr weight saving ute spec style is at it again. If you never drive in the rain you should get rid of all the wipers + motors as well. I hear they weigh heaps. Don't even get me started on how heavy the windscreen is, get a plastic one.
