Hi, I've recently bought a 1991 zed but don't know any good workshops in melb to take it to for repairs. Does anyone know where in melb?
Joe Imbesi of Top Choice Motors in Montrose... THE man to take your Zed to in Melbourne. It's a fair drive for me, I'm about 30mins away from Montrose, but well worth it. 9728 6977 or 0408 337 283 p.s. welcome to the forum
welcome to the forum .. and to zedland .... and if you want to really know your machine check out the "zed stuff CD" .. listed in "for sale-z related' under forum offers ..good stuff and heaps of it ... a forum fundraiser .... ..and enjoy your zed ...
Search the forum for Melbourne Workshop. Or use keywords like Nisport, Z shop, Wallards, Joe Imbessi etc etc and you'll get endless amounts of previous posts regarding peoples experiences with each.
Plenty off melbourne zeders go to Joe Imbessi, never been there myself but he has many recommendations from people here. I have had work done at Wallards in Bulleen, they know zeds, are straight shooters and will usually give you a price up front and stick to it, unless there is other problems associated with the initial problem, and sometimes that is the case.
thnks guys hey thnks guys for that info, am need it cos my zed has major power steering fluid leakage. Everytime I try and fill up the fluid it just disappears, but when i look under the car I can't see any leakage. I only notice the leakage after i have driven the car and parked it and see the stains on the ground. Am not sure if its a leak in the hose or something major. Hope its not too hard to fix. Anyone got any opinions?????
this may help u track the problem down http://tech.aus300zx.com/powersteer/Leaking_power_steering.doc
Possibly the fluid is leaking on to the undertrays, and only being displaced to fall onto the ground under the momentum of driving. A common point of leakage is the check valve in the long high pressure line running down from the pump then across the front of the car to the left hand side of the steering rack, behind the bottom of the radiator. All of the mechanics mentioned (with the possible exception of Joe, I've only ever seen good reports about him) have had good and bad reports. My personal recommend would be Wallards, simply because their location is convenient for me.
2nd, wallards = great place to take your Z... great guys... im sorry i didnt know about them before i got some other 'mechanic' to do work on my car....
