As soon as i try to start it my hazard lights go on automatically and it won't start, we've tried jumping it and no luck. Any suggestions?
Some sort of old alarm system back from the dead? Got any error codes? The hazard lights makes me think alarm.
Agreed. When mine does that I simply hit the "unlock" button on my key fob remote (for the alarm) again and then re-try the key and she's fine. Sounds like your alarm is doing it's job in imobalising the car. Either that or some kind of short triggering it.
I can't check for codes as i don't have equipment to do so, but yes the car has an immobiliser that we were told if the battery was removed that it would give us trouble and the battery died the other day but we started the car and i've been driving it for the past few days?.
A paper clip is all you need to check the error codes. Go to the tech section and search for 'diagnostic method 2'. Well it definately sounds like a immobiliser issue. You got the manual for it? Might need to remove it which is a bit of a PITA.
BRRRRR! BBRRRRR! Clank! Wirrrrr! "FCkin thing!!" "Oh i am sorry baby i didnt mean it, you know i love you" BRRR! Clank!
if you could even hear the stereo you need a new exhaust Na just kidding. Advice..... maybe to do with how you've bypassed the alarm but im not enough of an auto sparky to know how to fix. But more importantly, now either replace that alarm or get a sparky to look at it. This is a TEMP fix. Dont leave your baby unprotected....unless like me you want the insuranc payout lol But they may not pay up if they find out you've posted on a public forum that you now have no alarm/immobaliser fix asap :zlove: Good luck
get it sorted The trouble is if you dont get it sorted it could cause other probs. Take the car to an auto sparky or alarm installer and get it sorted.
How do you bypass the immobilizer i have had the same problem with mine forever. I just tried to start it today and no luck what so ever. please help!!!
J-spec and Aus-spec zeds didn't have the factory immobiliser so yours is likely to be aftermarket. If you can't find the brand, take a photo of the remote and post up here and we should be able to identify it. PS: I can help you disarm it (by PM only). Most can be bypassed in a few minutes.
