Hello guys, In urgent need of help, i purchased a TT zed about 10 months ago from interstate drove it all the way home, drove it a little around my area and never missed a beat! After 2 week i put it in the garage and done work to it, only performance mods are going to a dual intake setup, plus a big front mount. I with these mods I didnt not drive it, went to take it to the crash repairs and the car will not get over 2000rpm?? The car idles like a dream, it was sitting there for a long time before went into the crash repairs and also sat in there for 6 months, any idea why it will not rev over the 2000rpm and will not even go past 15km/h?? It starts first time every time, but when it goes to rev it seems like somethere is either blocked, dryed up, and leaking from somewhere any ideas what or where a commmon problem for this would be to start? Let me know and any other questions just ask away? Cheers for the help guys GT35R
Its a brand new one, never been driven on, but i have heard they can come out dodgy. So its worth getting one that works mint yeh??
Dual intake setup properly? And if its been sitting for 6 months not being driven you might want to change all your fluids... Also check to see if all your intake pipes are connected properly...i had a similar issue once when a hose clamp came loose lol
We changed back to the single intake, and also got another local Zed got a AFM of that and his was working and the problem still occurs nothing has changed? If you put the dual intake setup and it trips the ECU will it stay that error code or should it be solved by changing it back to single?? I had to change to dual to get the Front mount cooler to fit in!
Could be an ECU malfunction.... The ECU has a fail-safe system that uses predetermined settings if a malfunction is detected. It will enable easy starting of the engine, but not much else The CHECK ENGINE light on the dash panel should illuminate if a malfunction is detected (assuming the bulb isn't blown).
It's still occuring as you still have the error code, disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for an hour or so... that should fix it.
car didnt at one stage have a piggyback ECU or a AFC? Wired in to intercept the AFM signal? Check the plug on it also if the case. If they're removed unknowingly, you will get an Error Code 12...... Dont ask me how I know
http://www.300zxclub.com./showthread.php?t=192589 This guy seemed to have had the same problem you are describing. Did you parallel your piping on your front mount? You should have more of an X configuration.
