Rodeo = 1 and Zed = 0 Well on Saturday morning was about to head off to DFO when Craig's dad came in to tell me he had just accidently reversed into my zed ... Well I asked "is it bad", and he said "yeah it's pretty bad"...when I was walking towards the zed I was thinking "I can't see any damage on the front", but that's cause it was on the side..I was like "ohhhh..shit".. Thought I would have been a bit more pissed off seeing my baby hurt..but I guess I felt alright since I knew she would be fixed with no hassels.. Anyway here are some photos:

Accidents happen, even to the most careful people. The folks walked to the car through the carport gate and were busy washing the frost of the front windscreen while having an involved conversation. Dad actually checked his rear view mirror and could see nothing behind him and started to move back as he went to check his right mirror, noticed Renee's car but by then it was too late. The rubber bumper bar corner is what actually did the creasing, only about a 5cm section of the panel touched the top of the rear bumper on Renee's car, leaving some red paint behind. My dad tells me my mother was swearing like the world was about to end and he was a bit shocked that he hadn't remembered the car was there, as he was so taken up in the conversation. Shouldn't take much to fix it, Renee's already got a quote of $838 or something. Just shows how easy it is for things to happen when you take your mind off the job for a few seconds. Cheers! Craig
that sucks, ive heard rear quarter panels are really hard to find for a 2 seater, but then again could be fixed by actually using manual labour . oh well, not your fault so not your insurance premium so not too bad. hopefully its fixed quicker than mine (nearly 2 months and still no zed, they say it will be done tommorow, but they said it was supposed to be doen 2 weeks ago, so i dunno )but then again mine required just a little but more than 1 panel

for a $800 job which has been quoted,it certainly isnt a new panel pull it out,bit of a bog,respray 1 panel im guessing , The hardest part is getting the paint right so you cant see the repair
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHES BACK, FROM HER ATTACK.. Picked the zed up just now..and god she's looking shmick!! Ended up getting her repaired at CathCarts in Bendigo, cost Peters Insurance company $1800.. But now she looks awesome! No more petrol leak look down that side (and no I dont spill the petrol, previous owner I guess), and im pretty sure they painted the whole rear bar..AWESOME!!! This is the longest ive been apart from the zed in 3 years..and god the joy of driving her again..what can I say im EXCITED.. :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: P.S MODS..you can move this to the other section, as this thread was posted before the new section arrived
Exact same spot as mine was damaged, under similar circumstances (reversed into by SUV with towbar). I was thinking $800 was a bit low... mine was quoted at $2400, but that included a new rear bar... so $1800 more realistic. Just make sure the panels have been pulled out to where they should be, ie fully covering the rear wheel. Glad it's fixed.
Yeah panels are pulled out correctly..well im sure they are.. You can confirm on Saturday for me Doug ... Im loving this nice shine...anyone wanna respray my car for me
