Hi all, I was going to check out the Tech Section - but it is 'off-line', bummer. So, here is my question: Previously, I had a wheel alignment done to fix the car veering to the left all the time. See my last post on the same subject here: Wheel Alignment & Measurments Inside The car still is veering to the left, but I didn't make one observation in the previous post: They had removed the steering wheel to make it align straight again. But when I drive it is not straight at all, because I have to correct it to stop the veering . But I was really wondering if the removal of the steering wheel causes the four-wheel steering (Hicas) to become upset in some way. I did read a post referring to this some time back. I had a quick read of the service manual, but nothing obvious popped out at me to check. I have Datascan, but I don't believe it can check the Hicas system at all. I'm not getting any codes via Datascan nor any Hicas lights in the dash - so it would appear it's happy. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks. Cheers, Kaz.
Take it back to where the alignment was done and ask for you money back......... Then take it to someone that knows how to do it properly.
It could be a number of issues 1. Wheel alignment was dodgy, there are wheel alignments andd then there are "wheel alignments" if you know what i mean 2. one of you upper control arms (i'm assuming left) is off, due to past accident etc 3. ... i dunno
It could very well be the hicas, check for rear tyre wear as if it is the hicas out it can do a set of tyres in a very short time.
