Zee temps went up to 90 on ECUtalk :(

Went car wash and high pressure washed radiator, temp went to 84 (normal) but 20 min later, back up to 90 :(

38 degree day, mixture of freeway and stop/start driving, when does the zee drama end.

Just 1month ago the cooling system was flushed and pressure tested, so I'm getting over this crap :(

    the end.

Don't be overly concerned, Nissan designed the electric fan to cut in at 95 deg C.
    Or it should!

As long as the temps come down

relatively quickly from the peak temp under normal driving conditions then this is as per normal.

If they remain high no matter what, then check things like clutch fan is 'tight' enough. With engine off, it should provide fairly stiff resistance to spinning by hand under normal operating temps.

:) thanks guys, even though I'am over spending all of my savings maintaining her, she looks/sounds dammm fine and seeing people post 'Its normal temps' etc. makes me feel a whole lot better.

Happy New Year all, best wishes.

Temps would stay about 88-89 under idle :(

its ok its almost a 40degree hot day...

if it gets above 100-105 then there is something to look at...

get a twd if u dont already have one will alarm you at 95degrees. it if never reaches that temp relaxxxx

I got a ECUtalk so im not sure I need a TWD.

    Thanks heaps guys.

As you can monitor your temp via ecutalk you may consider testing the aux fan cut in temperature, by restricting airflow through the radiator with a piece of cardboard.
It may be better to test it under controlled conditions where you can easily remove the cardboard, rather than in a heavy traffic situation & find it doesn't work.

Mine was up to 95 today.Iwas worried to but have been told it's o.k . Had radiator rodded and new thermostat 1 month ago and made no difference.I think with my e.c.u talk i tend to watch it all the time. But if you look at the normal guage it isn't that high on it.I have got the lower fan shroud to go on and air going to wash out the aircon condenser tommorow. Also bought new foam to go between condensior and radiator. Was also thinking of putting the lower temp thermostat in but are sure this will not make any dif to the high temp days as the thermostat is wide open at that sort of temps.

It's more of an airflow issue, in traffic the airfow is reliant on the fan & is significantly reduced compared to highway conditions, where the clutch on the fan is designed to slip.
You are heading in the right direction re: cleaning the aircon etc, any restriction in that area will not help cooling.

I can only concur with what others have said - those temp readings on such a hot & humid day are nothing to worry about at all. I took my car out at 5:30pm (but it was still 38ish with a hot wind) and the temp was between 92-95 degrees in stop start traffic.

This is why I got my PWR twin pass radiator from UAS, so good, never goes past half way temp wise even on a 36 - 37 degree day :)

Are you judging that on the stock gauge or an aftermarket one?

Local zedder has a home made setup in his ZX, basic early holden temp sender hooked up to a red LED on the underside of the upper dash cover, you CANT miss it !!!!

Guages / fancy screens / etc .... only work if your watching them, which means your not watching the road !!
Buzzers / alarms / etc ...... only work if the doof doof machine is off or really low in volume

what some ppl need is a setup where a hammer springs out from under the seat and smackes em fair in the nuts ...... then maybe they'd actually LOOK AT THE DASH !!!

    ;)
