A few people know we'll be soon releasing a VQ30DET conversion for the Z32 however for the people who aren't keen on upgrading their engine, I just wanted to know if there would be much interest for a single turbo upgrade kit for the VG30?

For a lot of Z32 owners, the problem with upgrading turbos on the Z32 is the price is out of control once you buy the turbos, dump pipes, fmic and manifolds..... If we were to embark on a single turbo kit, would there be many takers?

P.S. I'm just brainstorming at the moment and want to release something new for the Z32. If you guys have any ideas on something else that you'd like to see, please let me know :)

As long as it's around the t04z size or bigger and can retain aircon. I think there will be issues with that though...

I'm interested, mainly interested in the manifolds and pipeing, stuff like oil lines, turbo etc is easy enough to source.

And no cutting of the chassis too!

What Chris said, but I don't care if the air con goes - they never shouldve had it from factory anyway :D

Im with Chrispy, to4z would be the smallest id consider.
If u could supply the kit without the turbo even better :)

God knows how ur going to get it all to fit ?

Price and power Tom. If your price and power graph beat a standard turbo upgrade price and power.. theres your market.

    Got any estimates so far?

I have a T76 sitting on the shelf that would be perfect for a big power VG but I will probably just sell it to cover some of the cost of a normal TT kit

I was checking out a Z32 single turbo build yesterday, needed to move the rad, make up new everything etc. I don't see a single turbo kit being economical for us

    Hey Tom,

Would this be a NA to Turbo?
    Or a Twin to Single?

If it's a cost effective option for a NA, rather than a Twin Turbo upgrade, I'd defiantly be interested.

Not a issue here in QLD. Would be easy enough to get mod plated. Done south might be another issue. NSW you can get it through.

i think id still prefer smaller twin turbos... less lag, better streetability. if i was building a drag car however...
I think for most people here, that don't want to go all out on an engine build, rather prefer to just upgrade the stock turbos to gt600r or the like... good power, less lag. Yes the big single would produce WAY more output... but only after 5000+ revs on a 3ltr.

Meh, it's not too bad. Big turbo's are a lot better than they used to be... Lag will fine IMO.

With a GT35R lag is not a problem, thats what my VG30DET has although its 1.06 turbine is a bit big, good for up to 500WHP if the motor is capable. Does not seem to be a cost effective conversion to me though - change the entire exhaust system, manifolds, X over pipe, one into two induction arrangement. The latter could be tricky to get the distribution right, otherwise buggered pistons on one bank.

But if anyone makes up some exhaust manifolds I may be interested, the stock DET ones are not the best so I'm looking at making up some steam pipe replacements.

My vg is factory single turbo. And in my engine bay atleast (cima) I can fit gt series turbo down there. If some one wants pics I have some some where from when I turboed a NA engine with single turbo manifolds. Check my topics even for my cima build if I posted it here. I'm sure you could get the manifolds NOS from Nissan japan

Stock det manifolds are sweet. Nothing a di grinder cane handle. And I easy split the cooler piping from 1 turbo to 2 throttles distribution isn't that important aslong as itswithin cooee it will work fine[IMG]

personally i dont think so, who is this kit aimed at and would it actually work out much cheaper than upgrading twin turbo's?
