    hi all,

just trying to find out something i heard about z32 coilovers, i've read somewhere that the r32 gtst OR gtr coilovers are the same as the z32.

can someone confirm whether this is true?
    cheers

R32 gtr & gt4 are the same as z32, gtst will not fit. The pillowball mounts generally need to be modified though.

a search would've answered this question btw...

tim is correct, GTR or GTS4 only. the tops are slightly different and the skyline ones will need some material removed to slip into the Z32 strut towers properly.

so would you say its worth getting the gtr or gts4 coilovers as apposed to z32 if you could get them at a way cheaper price.

there isnt really alot of options for those who want coilovers in there zed but cant afford to pay >$1500 for a new set.

If they are cheap then go for it.

correct me if im wrong . but super streets retail for 1200 or so !!! plus there brand new.. r32 gtr coilys are cool. but beware of the spring rates !!. alot of race spec stuff out there that will rattle the fillings out of your teeth

i havnt heard many good things about super streets.... i've got cusco and jic atm and there pretty good, i havnt given them ALOT of hard driving but i cant wait to see how well they perform.

even looking through yahoo auctions is hard to find any suspension for z32's... great cars but somethings are harder to find then others.

lol based on what? NS? JIC's heyday is long over. They haven't had any real new products or decent coilovers worth talking about since the FLT-2s or whatever came out which was like 4+ years ago. Cusco's range are all pretty damn hard and not really suitable for street. Last time I looked into them the springs rates were really hard and the cheaper version doesn't even have shock adjustments.

I've driven a few Zeds with Tein SS's and love them. I then bought some for my zed...

There's a bit of difference between a coilover that is good for drifting and one that is good for handling

Im with Chrispy , the Tein SS's are the best mod ive done on the zed totally tranformed the handling, bonus is they can be setup just as soft as the stock suspension if need be .
Great for ppl with RS backs like myself,

what about tein flex or tein monoflex, to hard/makes the car more suited to drift ?

Im intersed in one of these 3 coilovers produced by tein but im not sure wich one is good for a street (after rebuild hopeing for 300rwk/350rwk) driven zx that usialy comes out to go into the twistys that is driven with more grip then drift ?

    Thanks :)

Flex is good, and Monoflex are fantastic. Mikez32 has the monoflex's, I'm sure he'll be along soon :p

The monoflex spring rates are massive though so I read, 12kg and 7kg if I recall correctly, surely that = a fair amount of bump steer.

pretty sure mike said his monoflex's were 9 & 7, so stiff but not ridiculous.
My HKS hipermaxs were about the same *cough*for sale*cough* & were ok as a daily round melbourne with swaybars & front strut brace.

You'd definatly take the monoflex's over the ss & flex but in the end it comes down to budget
