Just to back-track to the OP, it might be worth doing an alignment check first before looking to correct it with adjustable rods. Measuring to the guards is a bit rough, but if it's really 17mm out at the centre then it's probably out of spec angle-wise and there might be something else wrong. On the other hand, if it checks out OK then don't forget stock rods/bushes as an option - they're boring but also well proven and reliable!
